As some of you know Billy now has his own boat. This 1949 Correct Craft Dart has a "BLANK" transom and needs a fitting name to be displayed on her REAR. All ideas and suggestions will be considered.
The winner will receive a free ride at GL this year, or a free tee shirt if not able to meet us there.
Come on guys throw us up some unique "WOODEN BOAT NAMES".............Billy

I'd say with the notoriety you attained "Boat Dr" would be in order, but you probably want the boat to have her own name, so that is going to take some time.

I have to agree that off hand it's funny but don't feel it's appropriate. My being around all the wood boats I see a occasional "off color" boat name with a reference to wood. The comments are always the same that our wood boats deserve more dignity.

Sea See's Dart

Wooden CC

DART 'n CC

Dart 'n Correct

guess can't be too long the transom isn't too wide. But I feel that it should reference the model at a minimum and Correct Craft as well or a play on those words, funny spelling, different order. Just some help

but the two I like best are

Wood n Dart

DART n CC

and it has to be done with a gold flake letters like the classic's always had them painted. Or hopefully the old timers I mean Pete can help on the period correct style of painted lettering.

also along those lines "Miss" was added to the begining in small letters in the upper corner or prominate as a title in the same size font.

Not necessarily. In my opinion, the fancy gold lettering and the real gold leaf (with optional engine turning) looks real good on bright (stained and varnished) finished transoms but not on painted. My first choice would be to stick with the existing colors. White lettering with a blue boarder/highlighting.

guess I didn't look close enough thought the transom would be the stained mahogany. Thought the top deck was just painted in sections like a racing stripe so to say. But then the Atom is pretty much painted everywhere too for got about that.

edit: well I agree Pete that would look ugly on all that white maybe blue blocked with a thin red outline with a white pin stripe between the Red and Blue.

Dave,
Your theory isn't correct. Guess I'm going to have to explain some facts to you. Wood doesn't need to be soaked to tighten it's seams to prevent leakage. If it does, it's in real bad shape.

BTW, my wood is in great condition so it doesn't need to be soaked!

and then when explodes you could rename
