Im here with my machinist and he is a starving artist, I think everyone has seen the style Pete and myself came up with, if not maybe Pete can include a pic. its worth and is cost effective if he could make 10 pullers and qouted me in the 70.00 to 80.00 range for one.
you dont have to commit but if you have interest please feel free to post. even if 5 guy's are interested I'll hold the other 5 and do some car work for him as a trade and if someone needs one in the future I'll have them ------------- "the things you own will start to own you" |

Are the 10 pullers 70-80 or each?
sorry If I didn understood you... I the case they go for 7 bucks each I would be interested.. the only thing for me Its making the payment.. 70.00 to 80.00 each, he will CNC and has a shop rate that he has to qoute at

Count me in! I've about worn out my C-style puller.
On a side note, my ORIGINAL tool box came by for a game of darts last night. Greg, got yous care package, reminds of a Celtic/Bluegrass mix, the woman has a very pleasant voice (the gay in me was going to say beautiful) but couldnt, i listened to one on the way home and I'll listen to one on the way in, I gave up talk radio for a while..the music calms me. thank you,

Sounds like you'll be checking out 'long songs' today...all live and some good jams. The band has an open taping policy at their shows and only ask that they not be distributed for profit...so it's not a bootleg.

I'll ask today, they will be well built but may be a touch different, the holes will be slotted and may have 2 sets of bolt patterns, one for three blade, one for four blade, they will be also slotted. I have lunch with him everyday and discuss ideas with him, i may even come up with a cheaper version of the "slotted clamp type shaft coupling. now that i know that we need to at least make 5 of them, I'll get a committment from him.

Pete we looked over yours and really, did appreciate your work....if we built it like that he would need to get closer to the 200.00 mark because more steps are involved, we pretty much hashed it out and we will make the opening accept an 1.125 shaft, we will use 1018 steel and on the 3 bolt pattern we will go on a smaller bolt circle or use the same possible group and go 90 degrees or go a touch larger and the outside of the three bolt circle to accomadate our 4 bolt circle, we have to make it universal, he has to write a program a may is able to machine markings in them such as the alphabet or trademark,
I know an outside source is going to like the idea and re-produce. The couplings wont be far behind these once i get these going, any ideas form you on the couplings would be appreciated, material? length? 2 bolts, 4 bolts and so on ------------- "the things you own will start to own you" |

The traditional "C" clamp style pullers stretch and don't work after a couple pulls especially if you've followed the proper prop install procedure and the prop is seated well on it's taper. Once they stretch, they no longer apply pressure to the prop equally. This is like trying to pull the prop off sideways! The next best puller I call the "Jorgenson" style because it's built like their famous wood working clamp. 
These aren't too bad as long as you tighten the correct nut so the arms stay parallel keeping equal pressure on the prop hub. I have seen these bent too!! good thing the machinist is on my ass, I had to order a round, its going to be a couple weeks yet
the thing with any type of c-clamp style anything, they get overtightened and bend, mine are all bent, simply, I had a c-style many years ago and threw it into Lake Erie where it belongs, they are not for professional use, i came back from that job 2 hours away and made the bolt style and never had the problem again. ------------- "the things you own will start to own you" |

Just for reference guy's here is my puller I bought from Glenwood years ago. It uses threaded rod instead of bolts. The piece to the right I made up for props that had less rake,other wise the puller comes in contact with the blades.It sells for 63.50 now
