I see that there was a similar discussion earlier, but I have different issue. My tongue weight was around 400 Lbs., and by moving the boat back about 3" I reduced it to maybe 375. This seems to be more than necessary, but my concern is that there is now an overhang of 20". Is that OK, especially with the gas tank so far back?

That shouldnt be any problem . But you do want to keep in mind the weight of the gas while traveling . When I travel a distance I keep my tank as empty as possible .

Tom, The 18' boat on a number 2 trailer will look just like that. 375 on the tongue is close but maybe still a tick high, just needs to be 10%. Your close enough where I'd say if it tows fine and doesn't wag then leave it alone.

Will you be heading to Green lake this July?
