I have a 2005 206. my pylon makes a noice when the skier is quite a bit outside the wake (not directly behind the boat). The boat originally had the extended pylon and I had the CC dealer swap it with the standard one before I purchased the boat in 2007. The pylon is rock sold yet make a slight metalic noise when a skier pulls from the side of the boat. Does anyone have any thoughts? I have slightly tightened the nuts thinking the base might be loose and that did not solve it. I was thinking it might be too tight? This is my third year with the boat and it never made the noise before. Ideas????

it sounds like the ski pole foot that is molded into the fiberglass hull is bad. the foot holds the end of the ski pole in place. if it has broken the fiberglass or loose creating give when its pulled on this could be your problem. i had to replace this part and refiberglass in a 76 ski tique i had.
