I have a 1984 2001SN and the built in cooler seems to be getting bilge water in it. Its making for a greasy beer bottle! Is this normal? Am I suppose to have a plug in the drain hole. I can't seem to find the right size. Thanks for your help.

My '95s cooler has a plug you can put in. I believe it's the same type plug that some small boats have in the stearn. You can probably find one at walmart.

Heres what mine has.

I believe West Marine has them as well.

Mine was doing that also, even with the plug in place. Turns out it was due to water that had gotten past the bulkhead and was sitting in the bow of the boat. The drain fitting was loose/broken and the standing water would fill the cooler up over night. I would drain it out and walla, it would fill up again. Now I'm half way through a complete stringer rebuild.

Hope that's not your problem also...

Seth,

Your not going to foam that area back in again are you?
When I tore mine apart that's where most of the damage was and it was like breaking a dam.

Thanks guys,
I will start with the plug and cross my fingers.
I sure hope this isn't a sign of a major problem, I'm in no position for a floor-stringer rebuild, summer just started here in Montana last weekend!
