Does anybody know why the rear 2 water jacket passages on a 1985 351w are blocked off on original intake. Where all the aftermarkets are open. Will this harm engine if aftermarkets are used. I called PCM they coud not give ma a answer, but will research it. They did say the chevy 350 is still made that way.

George,
I believe it's to get more water in the high side of the riser. The riser has pretty open water passages so seeking it's own level or the least resistance you wouldn't get the water up there where it's really needed. The aftermarket risers may not even be ported for water on the low side.
