I normally use my 5 inch drop hitch to get it to the lake. I use a 5 inch so that I can get it out of the yard without digging holes with the prop guard. But I'm wondering it I should switch to my 3 inch drop hitch for the trip? Does pulling more level make a difference? Would it affect swaying? I have had no swaying problems since I moved my boat up on the trailer but it still is only about half of the tongue weight it's supposed to be. I don't know if the hitch position makes much of a difference.
