I took my my 1.5 to 1 tranny apart to put in a new front seal, when I took the front pump off I noticed there was no gasket between the case and pump face. I bought a whole gasket and seal kit and the only gasket that fits it rubber and is almost .100 thick. Is that the correct one?

The link to the tranny guy that sponsors your site is not working, Just FYI

I think he my be a closet Mastercrafter, cause thier club doesnt have helpful forums lol,
it is a rubber (buna) sqaure cut ring that seals the pump to the front cover and it is probably .100 thick...never measured one

Kap, maybe a pro-star or stars and stripes

lilsumo,
Tell us more about yourself. There's nothing but "not given" and "unknown" in your profile. Are you really a "closet mastercrafter" like Eric thinks? Don't worry as we do have a few MC owners here. They do come over for help and we don't mind.

Welcome and BTW, how long has MC used a "Velver" drive? I've never heard of that brand before.

Here's the link to Eric just incase you need him.

I think most of the MC owners on Lanier are either in my boat or watching us go by. <---I didn't really say that.

lilsumo,

Unlike the MC site, we have all the good stuff! Here's the Velver drive manual in our reference section. http://www.correctcraftfan.com/Downloads/Velvet_Service_Manual.pdf - manual It has pictures and does show the square cut "O" ring front pump gasket. Now, where did the old one go????

OK you caught me, I was trying to lay low and slip in under the radar. :)

I have a 1989 mastercraft Tristar 190 with a 351W and a 1.5 to1 powerslot velvet drive tranny.

This is my first boat and it needs a lot of TLC. Trying to load a pic, but need to shrink it down in size first.

Thanks for any help and please don't kick me out of the forums to quickly, :) let me hang around a little. LOL

My Dad's mercedes wouldn't start one day...his foreman said he could borrow the ford emblem off of his truck.

Welcome aboard!
