Does anyone know where to purchase the Electric Speedometer Parts.

The paddlewheel is broken and the axle hole is elongated, which may be what caused the failure.

I also need a pickup for the common type of speedometer.

My first call would be to the Great people @ Discount Inboard Marine, www.skidim.com (803) 345-0996

I have one on my 80SN and I have been advised to remove it and put on another Air Guide. I was told that these are not very accurate at all. One of my paddles is broken off the wheel and the needle does not work on the dash. Your 81 is the first one that I have seen with one. I have seen several 80's with them on some other boats on this site.

I am curious if I realy should take it off or try to fix it. It seems like Correct Craft only used them for a few years so I do not know if it may just be better to go with another Air Guide. I think two chrome Air Guides look better. JMO

Ski Dim does sell the pickup you need for your Air Guide. Also they are improved not to get cloged with weeds, or so I have been told.

I hope this helps,

Donald

Thanks Donald,
Here is picture of the dash. This is the way it came from the factory. The reason I like the paddle wheel model is that it seems to be more accurate at slower speeds. I will check out your link and see what they have to allow. But the dash always looked goofy, like one of the speedometers went bad and someone installed whatever they could get their hands on.

Lets see, 1300 hours over 28 years! That pretty good eh?

Yes, that is exactly what mine looks like. I like the two Chrome Air Guide look.

Did you find a source for a replacement for your paddle wheel? I am looking for one also. I have a 80 SN and the dash is just like yours. My right speedo is not working and the one of the left is inaccurate. I would be very interested to know where you found your replacement. thanks.
