My brother is planning on getting married, probably next summer, and the topic of wedding gift came up the other day and someone joked about me probably giving them a boat! We'll that got the wheels turning. . .

We moved out to the lake 10 years ago and Ben (brother) spotted a Crosby outboard boat and fell in love. Once a summer he'll go ask the owner for a ride and he always mentions it when we drive by. . .

SO. . . I've found a 1959 Crosby outboard about 30 min away and am toying with the idea of trying to get it and give her a restore for his gift! I think this will have to be a joint effort by a few close friends but I'm sure it would be a great gift and a great first boat for the newly weds!

Here's a pic from the seller. . .

I know it's not a Correct Craft but think of it as a stepping stone untill I can get them hooked on Correct Crafts!

Nice looking boat Chris, but I would have bet it was a '60's boat,no fins! If you end up with her and need Merc parts, check here http://www.eastcoastmarineservice.com/marine_accesories.htm - old merc parts I have used them in the past and thay had what I needed for our 1950 and 1964 Merc's
Just answered my own comment right here, http://www.fiberglassics.com/crosby/ - Cosby boats

Careful, you might just get them hooked on Hydrodyne and their Twin rig ski show boats
