Unless someone has a clever idea I just have to say that it appears to me that in order to install an oil drain hose on early Mustangs the engine has to be pulled. Either that or you have to have arms made out of rubber and eyes on the ends of your fingers. Oh well. Anyone know of an engine jack with an 8' lift?

Jim,
Just use the bottle jacks under the exhaust manifold trick. That will get the tail end up enough to get to the drain.

Excellent!!!!! Problem solved!!!! Many many thanks. (I apologize for calling you pbrain when you first joined.) If I had 1/2 of your boat savy I would be twice as far ahead. (I actually did not mean to call you pbrain - I was just typing a short version of your name and it came out that way. I have worried about it ever since.)Thanks again for the great tip.

Jim, Just for future reference, a typical engine hoist will work if you remove one wheel from the trailer to tip one side of the boat low enough to allow clearence.

Jim,
Glad I could help but think you would have thought of it too eventually! Sometimes we are temporarily blinded by trees looking for the forest!!!

I do not feel that one would have fit on the 289 in ours.   I have one still in the bag from SkiDim, $25 plus shipping if you want to give it a go.
