Hi Guys and Ladies! Yes, I'm still around and I still look at the site even though I haven't been adding to it lately. Apologies for that. We have been getting ready for the regatta here in Beaver County and there's not a second to spare with everything going on in our lives. The Mustang is awaiting patiently for fall before I start digging in to the restoration mode again. Still brings a smile to my face when I walk out into the garage.

We just put up a new and improved site www.beaverriverregatta.org
If you get a minute, take a look and see what we've been up to. There is a Youtube link, as well as a facebook link. I just added 50+ pictures on the facebook.

Doc, I'll give you a call tomorrow. I miss hearing your and Karen's lovely voices, as I haven't talked to you in a while!

Pete, yes we are having the antique boat parade. I was not permitted to use any pictures from last year of the boats because we have a new web designer and the old one "owns" the pictures from last year. I'll get antique boat pictures in this year though for sure!

Hope everyone is well!

Michelle,

Tried the globe one in the reply screen and it defaults to CCFan, used the full editor (northeast arrow in toolbar)and it appears to work there??

Sanity-

I used to ski down there doing the waterski show. Its probably been 6 years since I skied there. Who is doing the ski show now?

Hi Tim,
Did you ski at the Pgh regatta or on the Beaver River at the Beaver County Regatta?
Blink and I do the ski shows, lighted boat parade and tow the race boats in.
We did the first year by ourselves, then I hooked up with Skip's. They went out of business. But, I made a friend, Kyle Prawdzik who - www.wakeboardpittsburgh.com - was Florida college champ boarder and he has been joining us and bringing others. We have a few locals, along with us, but there aren't many anymore in our "pond".
If you used to ski here, I'm sure you would know Blink, Fuzzy, Lance...to mention a few.
Come on down...we'd love to have you in the show!

I did the both quite a few years with "Bubby's Water show" probably 97-2003 or so. Then the ran out of money with the pgh regatta or something.

I remember one year when I was there barefooting at the beaver show. I was barefooting on perfect glass after a thunderstorm. Well I fell on perfect water for no reason.... Well I came up and there was a 4x4.....laying there. Well luckily one end of it was all burned and nice and smooth so I did not get hurt. I'm not a fan of barefooting in rivers.

Hahahaha....yes, but it was a sad day for me when speedo's went out of style! Blink is a barefooter and slalom skier. I'm an "old" slalom skier, but spend my time on the board now. Hmmm, maybe I'll drag the slalom ski out this weekend, as it's supposed to be nice.

Tim; You were with Bubby? We did the first tournament he held at that small lake I believe his father-in-law owned. Bubby and his crew replaced us at the Cleveland Boat Show. Small world.

I had all the same thoughts about Beaver County but thought it was to easy.

Gotta love those speedo shots.

Hard to climb with all those jackets on wasn't it? Never used them. Blink has some "stones"...no guy climbers in our crew...we'd have busted 'em to bad.

We could use a few barefooters this weekend :) Whew...still have a huge "chore" list. Funny how everything comes together even when you feel like everything is not done and ready yet.

I believe the 2009 Regatta was a success! Kyle posted alot of the ski show pics on his site www.wakeboardpittsburgh.com - as I was announcing for the most part. But, the kids had a GREAT time and had smiles on all weekend. We had a regatta photographer and I should have their pictures by Friday to post a few neat ones. In the meantime....look at the 82!!!

We didn't place in the lighted boat parade with the nautique, but we grabbed up 2nd place with the Carver!

Yes... You must have skied at Rohr's lake. Supposedly they ski there a lot. I just remember skiing there because the boat would sometime lift up when going over stumps....

HW, We are on the Beaver River, in Beaver County, right below Beaver and Beaver Falls....if you look close at some of the pictures, you'll see a bridge designed to look like a Beaver. And did I mention that our dock theme was Mardi Gras?????
Sanity

Yes, those are new shorts

Sanity-

Please tell your wakeboarding/sky ski friends to never do this again. This is a quick act to achieve death.

Tim,

I appreciate your concern, but I have learned through the process of planning and organizing any event, you can't make everyone happy all the time. Most of these guys are professionals and they will complete every stunt as safely as possible. I'm sure the Wright Brothers had tons of concerned citizens too.

So...........if anyone wants to see more of the ski show pictures, Kyle has over 100 posted on his site http://www.wakeboardpittsburgh.com - Bridgewater BC River Regatta Ski Show

Wow, What a setting for an event like that. Looks like a great waterfront.

I'd be up for a caravan to Beaver County next year gang. Just a days drive, we could pick up a pretty big crew along the way in Indiana and ohio.

Hi Alan,

It is beautiful. The Beaver River is no wake, till the regatta. We have the race boats, the ski show, so many different water events that both sides of the river can view. There are docks on both sides, a few wonderful restaurant/bars, a regatta pavilion, bleachers...

It takes an entire year of planning and prep and on Sunday night of the regatta, it always hits me. The boats are tied up in many rows almost the entire width of the river for the fireworks and closing shows. That's the first time all weekend I usually get to sit and soak it all in. To be involved in planning an event such as this and to see all of the people lined along shore, in their boats, everywhere, my kids smiling from ear to ear....WOW! I take it all to heart and thank God for letting me be a part of it.

Alan, we would love to have ccfan members there. That would be beyond awesome! Let me know ahead of time and I'll reserve all the dock space.
