The lake locals have a term - Nonlakers. These are a few actual statements about nonlakers I made after a crowded, busy and very long week at Deep Creek Lake. I can't wait until after Labor Day when we get the lake back. Feel free to add your own.
Sure, its OK to pass us WOT within 15 feet.
Nice look....on you....ever hear of sun block?
Does that massive tower mounted on your boat pick up NPR?
No, she's NOT hot and NO super dark tans will not help it either.
You can put it in a plastic cup all you want but I know your drunk.
You can fit another dozen or so people on that pontoon boat easy!
No problem at all. Go ahead a ride 50 feet behind the skier I'm towing!
Don't worry about that massive wake your making for no reason. It will only wash over my open bow and soak my small kids.
No, were not trying to teach a 5 yrs old girl how to ski. Go ahead and play 'kill the guy in the tube' in this calm cove.
Besure that the, um..ah.."ladies" in the boat keep dropping the F bomb more often than they say "like, I was" and "ya know"
Can you turn up that that god awful - whatever the heck you call it - blaring music from the speakers mounted on the tower of your parents crappy boat!
NO! You do not have the right of way!
Hey, *#@hole! Your skier dropped about 1/2 mile back. Hang up and turn around and look if you don't believe me!

I'll have to get back to this one!
I may build a podium on my bow some day.

Have you ever tried the get in early for good water method? It's great till you have had enough of it and head back to the ramp. So much ignorance in one location, it's scary. Seriously.

They're all good ones but this one irks me the most. Happens every time.
Chris, we're in Friendsville. We avoid DCL between the holidays and use Yough Lake. Marginally better and no outrageous DNR ramp fee. They draw down the Yough after Labor day so we migrate to DCL till it gets to cold. A buddy of mine flies the DNR guys around the lake every weekend for a boat count. Last weekend it was nearly 500 in one 20 min. circuit.

...and apparantly as soon as I pull the kids skiing all the fish swim up to my dock. Why else would fisherman be parked blocking it when I return about 5 minutes later. You know the guys that launch all those new weeds from the swamp they were at yesterday. Luckily the second best fishin hole is the middle of the slalom course, the one with the convienient buoys to anchor to so they won't drift.

I'm spoiled....
This will be coming to our lake soon.
Tonight we talked about selling everything to buy land and build a lake....

Tim, move to Aurora shores, i bet if i went to the lake right now i might see one boat...we removed 75 docks because no one was using them..plus i could use your boat lol, I actually brought that up to the pres of the association to start leasing dock space because of the lack of use of the lake

"Oh no, thats fine, no matter how many times I see a jet skier whip it around and plunge the nose, its just as impressive as the first time"
"Be sure to keep your eyes on your tuber at all times, much more important than looking straight ahead"
"Oh no, the sheriff won't mind if you have three kids sitting on your transom facing backwards while pulling your wakeboarder, he's not really interested in the safety of boaters around here."
"No, don't worry, it may look like a two lane boat ramp, but it really is designed for you to park right in the middle like that and take 45 minutes trying to figure out how to offload your boat."
"That sign that says no jet skis after seven doesnt apply to you."
(Note: all actual observations in the last two weeks.)

It's bad enough with the lack of common sense out there with some boaters but take your basic gayliner driver and put him/her on a PWC and it absolutely becomes another world out on the lake!! Why do you think most states have separate rules for PWC's!!

Pete, I hate to see you get in trouble with some rainbow coalition. You can't use the word gay (in any form) unless your talking about someone being happy. It's an ACLU thingy. So you'll have to go back to referring to them as bagliners. Personally I agree with you but now with Al Sharpton watching and Whitehouse fishy web patrol, well, ya can't be to careful

EDIT:
Kevin,
Thanks for bringing the "gay" word to my attention. The terminology actually wasn't my creation but has been around for awhile. From now on I'll refer to them as "bagliners" and hopefully that will be politically correct! BTW, this is only the second time I've ever used the emotioncons!!!

We're both from the same "old school" correct?? I just added the emotioncon because it was a good way to convey may feelings> That's what they were intended to do because so many times on a forum it's tough!!

That wasn't my idea.

Larry,
Fantastic!!!!! You have always come up with the greatest finds!!!! You are definitely a pro on finding stuff off the internet. BTW, I've heard that at one time in the late 60's to the early 70's there were over 200 manufactures of fiberglass boats. Most of them out of "garage shops" and most pulling molds off of existing hulls!!!

My apologies, I stand corrected. I had a couple of those "cloned" Cigarette boats. A Martini, a 24'Banana, and a Squadron X11. I think the first Mastercraft came off of a Nautique, Ski Supreme was built off a Mastercraft, Ski Centurion off a Ski Supreme, Brendella, Tige, American Skier all were plugs off one another. The way around the rules was if they couldn't fit exactly in the mold you could skate by.
I had a friend that owned a canoe mfg with 8 -10 different models that all started life as a Lincoln. He built a plug, made some canoes, cut some, lenghthened a couple, made one wider, added a square stern etc. He just kept plugging canoes and making molds.

Kevin.
I don't understand why you're apologizing! You brought out the fact that I should be more politically correct when I use that term "gay" and then Larry finds the manufacturer of a actual "gay" boat!! I did edit to correct the term "gay". I agree that starting in the late 60's, you never really knew what hull you were getting!! So many copies where being pulled from existing known hulls that where know to perform it was ridiculous!!!

"Only 27 minutes to load your "bagliner" on your trailer. That's a new record, at least two minutes off from last sunday! No no, don't pay attention to the lineup on the ramp, they got all day..."

Deepcreek,
Just saw this post.
I was there the week of the 8th, WHAT A ZOO!!!!!
I've have never seen so many 60,000 dollar SAN and the like pulling tubes, that place has got to be the tube capital of the world.
I've been going there for over ten years but I think this year was my last. That whole week just sucked with all the traffic.
Unfortunately route 68 ruined that lake.
