I seem to remember somebody putting up an offer to ski, to anyone who visits Belize. The family is going on a cruise that stops in that port. I thought I'd throw it out in case my memory was correct (which is often not the case). Have any of you been there?

I have been there a couple times. We love Belize and I would go back again. We stayed in Belmopan at Cave's Branch, Blackbird Caye about 30 miles offshore, and then in Placencia, which is a nice little fishing town a couple hundred km south of Belize City.

I cannot imagine good skiing unless you got out to the atolls which are a ways out. There is no real natural beach on the mainland of Belize.

US dollars can be used and everyone speaks English. They were British owned until the early 80's.

I would guess that you can take a tour to some of the temple ruins while there. Well worth the trip and not nearly as overrun like in the Cancun area.

My daughter went there last May for about 10 days and loved it. She said the people were very nice.

Understand it is hard to remember anything when you are 99 years of age...Happy Birthday.

Don't know about Belize, you might have mixed it up with Costa Rica?
