I found a good picture of my boat and I would like to post it on my avatar. I tried to go into "Member Control Panel" to do it, but, still could not figure out how to do it. The instructions for posting an avatar didn't do anything. I must be missing something.

I thought I would seek some advice here before I managed to shut the internet down by hitting the wrong keys

Thanks!

Dave

Hobby Boats can be expensive when the hobbyist is limited on their own skill and expertise.

I assumed the diaries id was your diaries name. I put that in and hit the submit button, but, nothing happened.

David,

Open up you diaries page. Go up to the URL for you page. The ID number is in the middle. In my case its 399. Put that number in the appropriate space in your control panel.

“Well, let me see…sun burn, stiff neck, screwed up back, assorted aches and pains….yup, my weekend was great, thanks for asking.”

The only "option" for your avatar image is the first picture in your Diary entry. So, it asks for your Diary ID so it can automatically pull the picture.

Okay, thanks guys. I think part of the problem, or maybe 100% of the problem, is that I never did a Diaries page for my boat. I did put it up for sale (had the opportunity to buy my old Southwind 20 back...but I missed it). Not sure a "For Sale" ad is the same as a diary. I will start with that and see what happens.

Appreciate the quick responses.
