What boat do you own? To create the main stringers for an 82-89 SN, you really need a 2X10X14 feet long to do it in one piece. The stringer is a little over 13 feet long. At minimum, you need a 2X8X14and you will need to add a wedge on top of the stringer at the stern portion which hold up the gas tank. BKH ------------- Livin' the Dream
