Whoops! He fell at the skate park on the half pipe. He put his hand down to break his fall. Both the radius and ulna are broke. One is more of a compression break while the other is clearly broken all the way through. The joys of being a kid eh?
He is in a splint for now and will go to a orthopedist to figure out what's next.
Please say a prayer for his quick and complete healing.
He sure is a tough guy. The way he was acting I figured it was just a sprain. He seemed like it hurt but not like it was overwhelming.

Did not see where you mention his age. My son broke both bones in his forearm when he was 15. He decided that the cast was holding him back so he cut it off with a dremel tool after about 3 weeks. Wore an ace bandage over it at home so that I would not know.
Long story short, they had to drop a weight on his arm to re-break both bones and he now has 4 plates/with screws and 2 nasty scares on his forearm.
I asked him every now and again if they are getting in the way ??? He is 26 now.
Keep an eye on him.....

He's 10. I'll make sure he follows the doctors orders. I've had friends growing up that cut off their casts, etc. They pay the price later in life.
He LOVES milk...never can seem to get enough, so having him drink a little extra certainly won't be too tough.
He woke up early this morning an was experiencing some strong pain. He seems to be doing "OK" but you can tell it hurts. They gave him a small dose Tylenol 3 prescription. We let him take one and we'll see how he does.
I'm really proud of what a good little man he is. He carries himself well and handles things like this like someone older.

Yep its broke!Like the guys say watch him make him read this.
I have only bad experience on myself when I was a kid and thought the world would end if I didn't get to the GNC MX race.I pray for a speedy recovery.
Its to bad peer presure makes the safety equipment dorky. My kid looks like Robocop when he races flat track. But on motorcycles the pro/heros wear all the right stuff. But on the extreme stuff you see guys with no shirt and shorts doing wild stuff. My boy won't wear the right stuff skateboarding either. From one okie to another I feel for ya.
c y'all later Munday

Well, he went to the ortho Monday and they "set" it and put him back in a splint for another week. He'll go into a cast next Monday. I was talking to him last night about it. He's kind of excited about doing some cool colors or something. I told him he should do his baseball team colors. Then we could get a logo sticker for the mascot and I could epoxy onto his cast for him...LOL!
