Curious if you guys know what torque settings are suggested for putting the drain plugs in the engine block and exhaust risers? I searched the forums and reference section and could only find 15 lbs for the knock sensor. Also, I seem to remember someone giving an alternative to teflon tape for the other plug threads, but couldn't find that again either. Thanks in advance for your help.

on the drain plugs for water, I use anti sieze, no need for tape or sealant, hand tight, these are plugs you have to pull every year, i will use the one finger method on the wrench. no need to crank them in. If you do notice on leaking go a touch tighter. a pipe plug is tapered and will seal as you tighten

Thanks Eric. I appreciate your help. I will use that method. I just didn't want to strip threads by over tightening, but didn't want them to be too loose either.

put them in hand tight and go a touch more with the wrench, they are almost imposssible to fall out, with this method, like a broken record, when i winterize boats its the ones Ive been doing for 10 or so years that i never have a problem getting the plugs out, I'll have problems with the boats that others have winterized because they will crank the plugs in, strip the heads, put lock-tite on them and so on.
