My boat has been vibrating under load lately so i checked the alignment . Its off so i tried to align i loosened the nuts on the back motor mounts and cant get the motor to move left to right . Is there any tricks to this ? MY boat is a 85 mabey there just seized . Any info would help thanks .

hey, where are you from?

Yes the mounts could have seized, spray some w40 on them and to move the engine you'll most likely need a pry bar and maybe even a big hammer.

Crowbar! Try some PB Blaster and let sit for a while or overnight. Their tough!

Put the PB Blaster in the cap and pour it on the bolts, don't Spray. That stuff eats soft seals for breakfast lunch and dinner but works like magic for making metal to metal lube's.

If you have to slide it side to side then it's way off, all you should have to do is adjust the studs using an adjustable wrench on the square head on top of them after you loosen the jam nuts. you might even have to move the ones for the motor but usually you only need to adjust the tranny mounts.

not saying that at all. It depends on the tilt of the motor and what direction everything needs to go, just pointing out usually you don't need to loosen the part of the mount that allows the tail or whole engine and tranny to move side to side, you have to be off by inchs to need to move that direction. Usually cranking on the various jack screws gets the job done.

After loostening the nuts, Those wedge pins often need to be whacked in to release them.
