Hi,
I have a 1976 Ski Tique that has developed a leaky water pump. If anyone has a good one please let me know.
Thanks,
JB

JB- I had to break down and purchase one for my 78 Ski Tique from Skidim (CCFans get a discount there). Reason being, the original pumps shaft and pulley have a key which was worn out. They discontinued these units and have since gone to a pressed on unit. Does your pump's pulley have a key or is it a pressed on unit?
If it isn't a keyed unit, you can send it to Depco Pumps and they will rebuild it for a reasonable price.
Here is the contact I have from Depco

Hello
Thanks for the response ...............I have very limited knowledge of the mechanicals on this boat, however I am starting to question my sanity for even buying it. I don't know if I have a keyed or non-keyed pump. This is like many of the items that need attention on this boat. The carb is also a problem & I don't know if I should go for a rebuild or a new one.
Just starting what is turning into a bigger project than I imagined. Boat the boat last summer from a CC Fan and thought it was in great shape, but am finding out it's not all it was cracked up to be.
Thanks again for the info
JB

John,
Before you get too far here, what engine do you have? If it's the OMC, you have bigger problems!!

JB, I would think you'd be best off sending it to Depco, I think they will be able to rebuild it for you. If they can rebuild it then you'll spend less money than buying new. Give Mike a call, he's very helpful.
If they can't, your best bet is buy one from Skidim.com and use the CCFan promotional code to receive 10% off your purchase. This is the best price I've found.
As for the carb, I was going to rebuild mine myself this spring but things got too busy at work so I had to take it in. What exactly is going on with the carb?
Keep in mind, you bought an old boat. They aren't maintenance free, but once you get them dialed in they are pretty easy to keep going! And the old boats are WAY cooler!!!

Thanks again...........
I will check with him on the pump. A new one is around 350.00.
I believe the carb is loading up ............ The boat runs OK at higher RPM's , but will not idle. We have adjusted the carb several times, but no help. The engine begins to run very foughly at idle speed & chokes down.......Then it is a real pain to re-start.

I think I paid right around 300 for my new one with the discount.
