http://correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=17303&KW=pullies&title=prop-direction - This thread will answer your question.

In your case your engine turns left but your prop turns right as the transmission reverses the rotation.

Seems right, but as you can see by my avatar, I am not as well versed on what size prop is right for you boat as others here would be. Someone who knows your boat better than I will chime in, I'm sure.

Fly,
You mentioning problems with prop install/removal got me to thinking that it may be a good idea to http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12866&KW=proper+prop&PID=145077&title=span-classhighlightproper-span-span-classhighlightprop-span-installation#145077 - take a look at this thread You do have a puller for the removal correct?

Pulling it off was the easy bit.Seems the castle nut is very hard to line up with the shaft hole to allow a split pin in.Just a pain to be fair and im struggling with a shoulder rotator cuff injury so im not very flexable at the min.

Did it come off without a puller? If so, then it defiantly was installed wrong and you need to review the prop thread.

Keeping in mind that it's the taper that really holds the prop on, you can actually back the nut off slightly to line up the cotter pin hole. I believe it's mentioned in the thread.
