Wacko,

I saw someone on this site had made their own cover. They made a wooden picture frame like structure over the hole and covered it with carpet. His battery was a little higher than the floor and the lack of wood in the center of the frame allowed for the carpet to form a dome to allow for the taller battery. You can first make a thin frame that goes inside the battery box and attach it to a wider frame that covers the hole. This interframe will help keep the battery cover in place.

I also need a cover and my battery is a little tall. I am going to go this route myself. Do a search and you may be able to find what I am talking about. It was posted just a few weeks ago.

I hope this helps,

Donald

Thanks Donald, I will do a search. I was kind of thinking I may have to fab something up after the lack of responses.

I'll post you pics of mine later when I get home. I made one for my 93 SN, just because the previous owner put in a Group 24 Battery and it's too tall.
Measure battery box opening, subtract 1/2" all the way around for the thickness of the carpet, then mine was measured 2" in all the way around to cut out, then wrapped in carpet. Works like a charm.
