Okay guys and gals! I came across a very interesting Correct Craft today in my travels. I am told this Ski Nautique is VERY special. Anybody want to venture a guess what may be special about it? Never, ever seen one like this before, and I have seen a lot of Ski Nautiques.

Any guesses on the year?

More pictures available.

For one it lives on a trailer with the worlds tallest bunks.

shouldnt an 83 have a three color stripe? strip looks like an 89. But it looks like an early 80s bow vent under the cover.

Those weren't bunks, they were stilts!!!

'83 is correct.

Hint: If I didn't know better, I almost thought it was a bass boat, except it didn't have a 700 HP outboard on it.

Pete....didn't get that shot, but, I don't recall that it would have revealed any clues.

Man, that boat was "one of a kind" though. Check the gel coat scheme out.

Sanity should consider this boat since she likes to Bass fish off of them

Did this supposedly come from the factory that way? I'm not sure I like it. The Silver Nautiques had about all the metalflake I could stomach, but to each his own.

It looks to be a special edition boat, made for the '83 Masters like http://correctcraftfan.com/diaries/details.asp?ID=2242 - this one.

Pauly Banana shared some original literature about these boats http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13116 - in this thread.

I thought Jbear fixed his boat?

Just kidding...........Could it have been a milestone SN in that it was the ----th boat off the line?

Awesome, so that's the blue one? I would have guessed it was the middle/red boat based on the top pictures. Where is it?

MaddMarxx said he had an '85 Ski Nautique metalflake gel boat too.

I wonder if private individuals or corporations ended up with the boats? That's interesting!

PAK,

CC brought back the Metal Flake in 2010', it's available as an option, not sure what the cost is.

Like the look of some Flake, replaced the black pin tape on my boat with Silver Metallic, Bling Bling!

David, where is it at, want to see it!

I saw this boat in Angola IN at a used car lot. The owner, Mark Crist, of Mark Crist Motorsports told me all about the boat. He has it for sale for $8000, and that even includes the trailer with the worlds tallest bunks on it. The interior is brand new, and looks just like in the pictures above.

I like the metal flake, but, that '83 was just a tad over the top with it. A little goes a long way. Plus, it looked like water was getting under the gel at the water line and causing it to fog pretty bad in areas. I think if just the stripe was done, that would be in good taste and not too much.

In 1983 I was told by CC Dealer Robert Glover, son-in-law of CC Dealer Phil Hildebrandt Jr., That one of the Sea World display boats was equipped with a Clear Lexan Motor Box.

Love that MetalFlake!

edit: sorry, Lucite, not Lexan.

I think those boats are very cool and thought how great it would be to own a 1 of 3 boat, and even cooler that David reported it was for sale. But then I thought too bad when Woody reported in the older thread that there were problems with the gel/metal flake process, as confirmed by David with this boat. You wouldnt think such a unique boat would end up for sale in a boat yard outside of Chicago.

Interesting little bit of trivia in that old thread about HW being banned from 2001. And he's such a nice guy over here.

Angola is on the other side of the state of Indiana and about 2-3 hours from the Windy city but right in the back yard of the former MWCC though

I agree with the sentiment that a little flake can make for a nice accent. Replaced my black stripes as well.
