Well, I thought I had everything licked BUT I have one more problem.

I started the boat up today after replacing the stringers and wiring over the last 8 months. When I took the engine out, I neglected to take a picture or remember how the cables pictured below were attached. I basically don't much about them. The engine started fine in the driveway but it was idling too fast. I thought all I had to do was adjust the idle screw but that did nothing. I manually pushed the throttle linkage the cable attaches to and the idle slowed down to where it is supposed to be. I then tried to shift it in gear and it was very hard. I have never had any problems with either since I have owned the boat and figured I have not put it back together right or messed up the cable during the rebuild. Here are some pictures: The throttle cable is unattached:

Can anyone help me? Going on vacation friday and really need this addressed before then. Thanks.

Hey everyone........

I don't want to call this an S.O.S but HEEEEEELP!! I have a definite problem with my throttle and transmission cables. I thought you just hoook them back up and go skiing. Wrong! An extremely knowledgable friend of mine and I tried to get them working just a minute ago and could not. It will let you shift to neutral and reverse but not forward.

In a nutshell, I need to know how to get these cables working from square one and a total adjustment. I think the whole mechanism is out of adjustment and the throttle adjustment is keeping the transmission from adjusting and shifting properly.

COME ON FRIENDS, HELP ME OUT. I HAVE 8 MONTHS OF WORK RIDING ON ME FIXING THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I LEAVE FRIDAY FOR OUR FAMILY VACATION ON THE WATER. I CAN BE BRIBED, BLACKMAILED, OR BOUGHT....JUST DON'T WANT TO DISSAPOINT MY FAMILY NEXT WEEK.
