Hey guys,
I'm trying to remove the backrest for the bow seating in the SAN for cleaning and speaker replacement.

I did some research over on PN on the process before attempting removal last night. I will post there also, but thought someone here may know.

I have removed 2 x screws on the port side, another 2 x screws in front of the driver, and 1 double nut arrangement at the front. I have felt around as much as I can reach behind the cup holders but there are no fixings here (except for the grab rail).

I understand that you have to lift it at the cabin end to pop it out of the locating clips.? I lifted it as much as I dared last night but it wouldn't budge.?

I don't think I missed any screws, but I will double check - it's pretty busy with wires, ducts, and the subwoofer behind the drivers kick pannel.

Thoughts.?

Ok so I had another quick look last night, but it was too dark to really get into it.

Seems that there is 2 more screws on the port side that are behind the factory amp mounting board. I can't see any way to get to these.? Any ideas.?

Also seems that there is another (3rd) screw on the starbord (driver) side. I haven't been able to find / get to this screw yet do to all the wires / ducts, and the factory subwoofer.

Dave,
SAN = Super Air Nautique.

Chop,

I had my 2002 bow pad out this winter. I think you are missing 2 studs with nuts aft of the grab rails, near the speakers. I can't remember if they are fore or aft of the speakers though.

To recap, to the best of my memory - 3 qty 1/4-20 studs with nuts and fender washers and 4 screws. You then lift in the port and starboard corners to detach from the locating clips. Then lift the bow section straight up. Should come out pretty easily.

I've checked that area pretty well I thought. I did read that there was some stud / nut fasteners around the cup holder area.

for the life of me I can't find them.

Back to the shed.!
