Gang need advice my tranny fluid is a milky, I put in a plastic bottle and have been watching since sat morning. Appears to have a little watter on top. about 1/4 inch and the rest is still a milky color. I think I need to replace the tranny cooler. But is there any other problems that you guys have seen with this. Thanks in advance Jon

Jon,
Chances are at 99% that it's your cooler.

You can pull your cooler off and fill it with water to check it.

My 99 SN was doing exactly the same, at first i thought it was condensation as although the fluid was milky there never seemed to be an excess amount of fluid on the dipstick, I replaced the fluid 4 times, always the same after use, eventually replaced the cooler and the problem has gone.

Malcolm,
Trans fluid gets out via the cooler just like water gets in via the cooler!

Does the pump in the tranny pump through the cooler or suck through? just thinking that if it pumps then you would loose oil but not gain any water due to the pump pressure being greater, but if it sucks through the cooler then it would pull water in through any small holes but not neccersarily loose oil.
As i said i replaced mine and all is now sweet

Pumping or sucking really doesn't matter. Keep in mind there's no suction or pressure when the engines not running. Running to sitting does produce heat/cool - expansion/contraction cycles.
