Special Announcement:

We've had two fantastic reunions in Lake George, NY with the tremendous support of Adirondack Marine. In an effort to bring the event into August, while simultaneously helping out a new Nautique dealer, we're moving the 2010 CorrectCraftFan.com Northeast Reunion to Epsom, NH - August 20-22!

With the blessing of Tom Roach of Adirondack Marine, the 2010 Northeast Reunion will be hosted by the region's newest Nautique dealer, http://www.maccallumsboathouse.com/ - MacCallum's Boat House on the shores of Northwood Lake is Epsom, NH. With a private boat launch and dock space for 28 boats, it will be a terrific location for our reunion.

MacCallum's Boathouse is really stepping up with their sponsorship, providing full access to their facility along with the use of demo boats throughout the weekend. They also have plenty of room for the Friday night Boat Show which will take place right across the street from the lake.

Northwood Lake is just under 700 acres which should be the perfect size - big enough for 30+ Correct Crafts but small enough for day-long skiing, footing and riding on decent water. Picture all the boats tied together on the lake as we enjoy watching each other ski and ride throughout the day!

With the support of MacCallum's, we plan on having reps from PCM and Correct Craft on-site for boat care clinics. Likewise, we're hoping to have a Nautique athlete join us for instruction and demos.

Event Registration will start next week. In the meantime, there is a room block at the nearby http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mhtcn-courtyard-concord/ - Courtyard by Marriott in Concord at a special rate of $104/night (reference CorrectCraftFan.com) and there are camp sites available at http://www.ucampnh.com/epsomvalley/ - Epsom Valley Campground for tents, RVs - and if we have enough people all stay in a designated area.

For those flying in, the http://www.flymanchester.com/ - Manchester Boston Regional Airport is only 30 mins. away in Manchester, NH.

I want to the thank Adirondack Marine for their support over the last two years and for their encouragement to support a fellow regional Nautique dealer. I also want to thank MacCallum's Boat House for hosting this year's CCF Northeast Reunion.

I hope to see you this August in beautiful NH. At just over an hour's drive from my house, it's very exciting for me to have reunion so close to home.

Thank you,
Keith

Well I had planned on something in September and now cant get coverage for my job to do these dates. I was hoping to get the 85 up there to compete with Brad as 86. But it looks like next year to see all of you who have attended the last 2 at Lake George. A week later would have been doable aswell.

Thanks
Phil

Mike,

Hard to call in sick in my retail position they would be hunting me down, probably drive to my house to see if i was there or call my father too lol. I only get every 6th weekend off so i was going to move if i could the weekend of the 28th of august to sometime in september but i cant move it to the dates of the reunion as there would be no one to run the store and store cant be closed.

Time is so tough this year to do anything, my vacation is coming up quick same starting date of the Greenlake weekend 17th24th up in Lake George. So garage project will continue when we get back, we hope to have the framing up on first floor by middle/end of August if we can and then work on 2nd floor and roof and try to get it somewhat enclosed by October so both boat or at least one boat can be under cover and vehicles all put away for winter. Its been a lot of labor everyday after work lately trying to get stuff ready for pouring the slab. Thank god I have free access to Rental equipment Bobcats,Mini Excavator stuff huge savings there.

Hey guys,

If any of you have any questions about the area or hotels feel free to email me. I would be more than happy to check places out for you or give you my two cents if you want to rent a camp on the lake. I live about 20 minutes away and drive by it every weekend on the way to my lake.

That Marriott that Keith is talking about has plenty of parking if you were trailering each day and easy to get back and forth to, its only about 20 minutes away.

It would be good to see registration start and get a discussion going about where people are going to stay and when they are going to arrive. The campground has cabins and pop ups, and sounds closer than the place in Concord. If people are going to stay there, they may need to start booking soon. 5 weeks away.

Hey Fellas,
Looking forward to seeing all the NE fans and thier boats again this year at the reunion.

Bruce, we're thinking of bringing our pop- up and staying at the local campground Friday to Monday.

Mike, have you seen Jeff K around lately? Would be great if he and his crew could make it this year.

Hope you guys are staying cool thru this heat wave.
See you in a couple weeks.

Hey Guys,
Sorry about that. Posted the reg page late last night (too late apparently) and it had the bug where it didn't carry over the correct Reunion description to Paypal. The registration part did have the correct reunion (NE10) and now the Paypal part is all set as well.

Thanks for the headsup Bruce.

The reuinion is only about 35 minutes from my Grandfathers cottage on Suncook lake. Debating on staying there or putting up a tent. Depending on what the group decides to do between tenting or a hotel will sway my decision!

Very excited about it being in NH. LG was great but tough for being able to ski, board, foot.

I told Woody about it two weeks ago and he sounded like a "maybe"

Jeff put his boat in the water Monday July 5th for the first time this year. I saw him on the lake late that day and we spoke about him making it over. He said he would try to make it for one day at least. That kid literally works 80 hours a week....... every week. I'll keep on him if I see him, but he isn't around much anymore. Maybe if we mass e-mail him he'll get the hint

Keith, I'm definitely going to register. I just need to find out how many guests. I'm hoping to get my cousin Eric to come so he can finish the slalom run he started during the 2006 reunion. His son is looking to learn to ski this year too.

I'm also looking to recruit my buddy Jeff who I ski with on weekends. He owns a very nice 1984 Nautique.

Sounds great Ken. Just got my kids up on skis over July 4th weekend (5 and 7). The boom with extended handle works great! I was easily able to drag along from the boom right next to them, helping them get their skis on after stopping and holding them steady with one arm during take off.

I'll have that setup in my boat for the NE Reunion.

Same here, I'm trying to get my guest numbers figured out. My brother had said he wanted to come as well, just have to make sure he can.

Also, I was trying to figure out if I should stay at the campground, or go back both nights to East Wakefield NH, where my parents have a place.

Is there likely to be a party type of thing after the boat-on-trailer show Friday like there was at Lake George? If so, I'd be more inclined to set up a place to stay nearby.

Posted By: Keith
Date Posted: July-14-2010 at 8:09pm
Depending on how many people get rooms at the hotel, I think we'll be hanging somewhere in Concord afterward. Not a lot of night life right in Epsom but nearby Concord has plenty of gathering places.

If enough people stay at the Courtyard, we can even get our own room there if we wanted.

If you guys need to add guests after you register, you can just shoot me an email at mailto:Keith@CorrectCraftFan.com - Keith@CorrectCraftFan.com and I'll add the guests.

Thanks,
Keith

ok we are registered, that was the easy part.Do to work last year only got to use the boat 1 thats right one day,SOB..we really have enjoyed the 2 reunions we have attended Milton 3 ponds and the first Lake George one and are looking forward to this one, currently our boats under some renovation floor, carpet, upholstery, pertronix ignition, and finally figuring out what year it really is,when we bought it the orig. owner said it was a 1968 but we recently found an old reg under the floor board that said 1966,And haven't been able to figure it out thru the brochure links.it has the foot pedal w/the shifter on the column.oh enuff bout that back to the reunion, looking at a rental on the lake or could bring the camper if it looks like thats the popular choice of others?Either way looking forward to it, see ya their!!

With the change to a much more 'skiable' lake, I'm putting the call out for people attending to bring what they have for extra skis, ropes, and other equipment. If the conditions are right, we could easily throw together a pyramid, slalom crisscross or something similar.

The 2 threes at GL last year was pretty impressive, so I think we are going to have to step it up to 2 fives or maybe a seven. The last five I was in was in 1972 behind our 66 Mustang.

I'd say its about time for another one.

I think my friend and my brother will be coming too, I still have to confirm for sure. But, we're all pretty strong skiers. I've never done a pyramid, but I'd be down to try. That sounds like fun. I have two ropes, a set of old combo skis, a slalom ski and a mismatched wooden, yellow ski that's good for dropping because it's easy to see.

Hi Keith,

Do you happen to have a good printable flier for the Northeast reunion?

There's at least 10 Correct Crafts on Balch, and I think I might be the only one of them on here. Unfortunately, I don't even really know any of them yet, other than to wave hello.

There's only one marina, and the family that owns it is really cool. I'm thinking they'd let me hang something up, there's a little cork board with want ads and stuff.

Thats a really good idea brian has. I got to a few different lakes where I live down in North New Jersey and i see CC's around and would love to be able to hand them something related to the website and the event!

Cool! That's right in my neck of the woods. I've only been there once, but I'm only two lakes south of you on Horn Pond. So far I'm the only CC on the lake, but there are two other ski boats, a 2000 MC and a Supra, neither of which I've ever seen tow anything.

How often do you get to Balch?

Ken, You had me believing you were buying a 200 at the Boston Boat Show. What happened?

Are the Benjamins, Farmers and Godfathers coming?

I'd buy a 200 myself. But, my Benjamin Farmers had a very poor crop yield this year

I would haved loved to have bought the 200. Buying a house and new truck put those plans of a new boat on the back-burner. I did get to go to Rhoni's home to ski though!

I'd be surprised if the Benjamins were not there. I think I saw a post from Reid that alluded to the fact that he is planning on coming as well. Has Farmer been around lately? What about JoeinNy ? You coming up Joe?? Flyin Bryan?
You guys on Balch and Horn are right around the corner from Jeff Kostis and myself. We're on Mousam in Shapleigh.

I've heard through the grapevine that Tim cant make it, but I planted the seed with him that that shouldnt keep the rest of the family from coming. So hopefully the Benjamin clan will be represented. Gary (Farmer) has been laying pretty low lately...hopefully he'll make it, Heck, he got a new prop out of the deal 2 years ago. Kostis can't possibly miss it with it being in his back yard. Lets get these guys signed up.

Work was the main contributor on my inability to make GL- but too many coals in the fire (new house, out of state move, new job, lots of projects) were contributors as well. Ive known that NE wasnt in the cards for me as soon as the announcement was made- I already had plans on the weekend of 8/21. I dont know what the family or the rest of the crew's plans are for the reunion, I havent heard it discussed. These are the only reunions I'll have missed since GL '06... oh well, maybe next year will be better.

Ok guys no picking on Tim for not making both reunions this project on the 79 foot has alot more detail to do then a normal wood stringer job. It took my father and myself 7 months to do our 85 ski with the same coosa so that joeny inspired our project. I would have been bringing both the 85 and the 2008 to the reunion but no work coverage that weekend. I am going to talk to a few to try and have a day get together on lake zoar or lillinoah sometime in September if we can plan who can't make this reunion.
I have been up in lake George all this week and been out every morning by 6am skiing and footing on the glassy waters.

Ha, no wiggle room Bruce- that weekend is 100% out for me.

Phil, like I said, it wasnt the BFN project that's keeping me from the reunions- just too much else going on for GL (primarily work) and I have a schedule conflict for NE. I saw that I missed your call over the weekend... shoot me an email if it was something important! Spending a day on Zoar/Lillinoah in Sept is definitely a possibility.

Haven't been to Poor Peoples' for a few years. My BIL goes there every few weeks for a burger. I was at Big Daddy's two weeks ago watching a friend's band play. That place is less than 5 minutes from our camp.

Bruce- will you be bringing the Classic, Mustang or both?

Phil- sorry you can't make it this year either. Maybe we can hook up the following weekend somewhere? Good luck with the new garage project- that thing is gonna be sweet!

Keith- We'll bring all sorts of ski gear for whatever craziness ensues.I'd love to be a part of the pyramid- possibly a base if we have another 6+ footer to match up..but that would put the top guy about 6 feet off the water- whoooaaa.

This is shaping up to be a great reunion fellas. Can't wait!

Tim, you could change your plans. One of my guys had long range plans to go to some country fest at Gillete that weekend and bailed. He said his friends know boats come first. Tim, only kidding. I know it's a bachelor party and you no doubt are a key player. You will be missed.

When we lived in our previous house in N. Berwick I used to take my boat to Mousam to bomb around because it was the closest lake. Mousam's a popular one. Nice things about Mousam are the mom and pop convenience store on the water with gas pumps, and the beach, usually with "scenery". :) Used to be the "hot dog lady" on the beach every day, selling hot dogs in her bikini, but I think some fat female town board members who are uncomfortable with their own bodies put a stop to that. Can't have attractive women walking around in bikinis, now, can we?

To me PPP is only good for pizza or sub take-out. Entrees suck and the service is probably the worst I've ever experienced. After eating there 5 or 10 times I decided it's not worth it. The last time I "dined" in, after waiting forever for our waitress so I could ask for another drink for my daughter so she could choke down her cardboard nuggets, I see our waitress sitting at one of the tables with her buddies drinking beer. No more service for us, I guess. It was one of the only times in my life I left no tip whatsoever. They're lucky I paid for the sorry excuse of a meal. But their pizza and subs are excellent.

The food and service at Big Daddys didn't do much for me either (except that the waitresses were mostly pretty hot), but I haven't been there in a few years, maybe it's better now. They do have a nice bar with pool tables, I'll give 'em that!

I haven't registered yet because right after I said "woohoo- I'm there", I found out I may not be able to make it. :( Is there a deadline? Looks like a blast!

I'm also working on 14-day temp boat safe certificates for those who don't have them.

We're go for http://www.ucampnh.com/epsomvalley/ - Epsom Valley Campground (603-736-9758). Tell them you're with CorrectCraftFan and you'd like to stay with the group in the Safari Area.

That should be fun. My brother and I have been kinda competing, but it's all been very subjective so far. This should be a fun opportunity.

Event Update:
We are applying for a slalom course permit and should have one for the reunion.

There is no speed limit on Northwood Lake (so no issue with the fastest boat competition)

Marine patrol goes out on the lake once a day and uses the private launch at MacCallum's Boathouse so we'll be well aware when they are on the water.

The NH state law does require a Safe Boater Education Certificate. For those who do not have one of these certificates and you are interested in getting one, take the http://www.boat-ed.com/fl/fl_internet.htm - Florida Boating Exam . The exam is completely online, the cost is $29.95 and you only pay if you pass. You get an instant printable certificate and then a card will be sent to you in the mail.

This Florida Boating Exam is NASBLA certified and accepted in NH (along with 48 other states) and may provide you with discounts on your boat insurance.

Keith, I'm looking forward to skiing behind that boat!

I took and passed the FLA exam. It's a about a half hour exam that most experienced boaters ought to be able to answer most of the questions. You need to get 80% of the 60 questions correct. The questions that were tough for me pertain to FLA law or questions about boating in the ocean. If anyone is worried about not having a boating certificate, it's a convenient way to get one. It takes 2-3 weeks to receive the actual card, so don't wait too long to take the exam if you want one.

Hey Bruce,
Thanks for the insight. Same for me on the FL laws. I took a look at the http://www.boat-ed.com/fl/course/index.htm - Course Table of Contents for those laws specific to FL that I did not know.

Once you pay, you can print a temporary certificate immediately.

In NH, a person with the certificate just has to be on board, they don't necessarily have to be the driver:

A vessel powered by more than 25 horsepower (other than a “ski craft”) may be operated by:

    * A person under 16 years of age only if he or she is accompanied by a person 18 years old or older who has a valid Safe Boater Education Certificate. The accompanying person is responsible for any injury or damage caused during operation of the vessel.

My brother and I both have our certs, and my brother is almost definitely coming too, I just have to peg him down.

If he comes, I'll happily lend him (and his cert) out. Or, he could drive my boat and I could go with someone. My 2nd brother (also with a cert) can't make this one unfortunately.

Dave & Tom have their certs, too, so that's 3 for our 1 boat. We'll be available, too.   I doubt they'll be pulling every Correct Craft over. I bet our reputation proceeds us and we'll be cut some slack.

I agree with Bruce. I think with our group using the same marina/ramp as the marine patrol and being sponsored by that marina I feel like they will be kind to us. I have talked to some of the marine patrol guys that come to Suncook lake(about 20 minutes north of epsome) and most of the guys/lady marine patrol officers are pretty laid back. They're out there looking for jet skis and such that are reallllly breaking the rules by doing dumb stuff. I think they will overlook some of the CC "antics"

If there's on thing NH Marine patrol hates, it's people on jet skis.
