I'm about to change the fuel filter on my 85SN. Is there anything I need to know or do before I try this? I'm waiting on the filter from skidim it is the long filter, with the 8in. housing.

Just did mine this weekend. Put a little oil on the rubber gasket and screw filter on by hand. I put a ziplock bag around the old filter to keep from spilling oil in the bilge. Of course, my hands got oily and slippery and I dropped the filter in the bilge! I should have expected something like this.

How did the oil get in your gas filter?

Absolutely brilliant on my part! The post clearly says "fuel filter" and I have "oil filter" on my pea sized brain! Sorry.

Yeah I can change the oil, I was just wondering about the fuel filter. Thanks for trying anyway.
