Hi all,

YES i have searched and found a couple great threads about how to change the transmission oil, sticking with dexron/mercon fluid, using a hand-pump or vaccum pump to suck it out through the fill-hole.

Great info... so I went to go do that, I had a cheap hand-pump on hand, stuck the hose down the fill-hole and clunk, it stops part way down, blocked by something. I can't seem to get it into the pan far enough to suck out any fluid.

This is on a 92' SNOB...

Do I need a really small hose? Is there a trick to this? Or perhaps those forum threads I was reading was for a different trans in which case, how do I do mine?

Good thing is the oil looks clean and red.

Appreciate any tips, thanks :-)

Ian you may need a smaller hose that fits inside the hose on the end of your hand pump. I used some semi rigid hose inside a collar of plastic hose to seal it. Then guide it down to the bottom of the trans.
