Tom. It was in 58 when the Ford engineers came up with the Nucleon concept. Do you feel they were just early in the smoking of "herbal" plants or were they just thinking along the same unusual lines Ford engineering has and continues to be???

I want a nuclear reactor in my garage!!! Absolutely stupid but Ford does have "a better idea" !!

i love the engineering of the steel studs in my aluminum heads for my v 10 exhaust manifolds.... it looks quicker to pull the motor out than try and get to those things broken at the face of the head i am sure

To be honest, I really don't consider Ford to be my "beloved motor company", it's just that I hate GM's.

I never got into chryslers, so ford it was:)

I'm sure some people still laugh at hydrogen being used as a fuel source, but BMW and other European companies (GM too ) seem to think it is viable.

All car companies have had some not so wise choices, but not all choose to actually produce them. The Nucleon was a concept car, and never made. Apparently the Nucleon's reactor was the inspiration for the "Back To The Future" Delorean. Not bad at all, at least better than the overhyped transformers movies using GM's.   And yes, i know all about John Delorean.   He happened to work for GM. LOL

So, while I still hate GM, I like the Chevy Volt. Especially now that I will be driving about 70 miles each day for work, it sounds really interesting.   You know, the hybrid car that is coming out that doesn't work like traditional hybrids? Remember the electric ski boat conversion thread?   On that one you needed to research before posting
The hopefully 60 mile pure electric range and then the generator that fires up after the batteries are discharged and that small gas generator to charge the batteries sounds interesting.

Hey Pete,   you forgot to use this emoticon. I can't think of a better time to use it. :)
