I rocked my boat pretty good a few weeks ago. All the fiberglass work is done and we have the shaft, rudder and prop in house. Problem is the struts for 97-present day v-drives are out of stock from correct craft. They're on back-order with no concrete answer as to when they'll be in stock. I could be off the water for the rest of the season for all I know.

Anyone know of a dealer who might have one sitting on the shelf. Tried White Lake Marine, Nautiques of Orlando, a dealer in texas and all the local ones in New England.

Anyone know of a Nautique grave yard or have a junker they can sell me a strut off?

Is the old strut beyond straightening? Have you considered it and have you checked into it? A good starting point if you do not have a press to do it yourself is a prop repair shop.

If it's beyond repair, you really need to think beyond dealers. They are typically high in cost and never have odd parts in stock. Go directly to the http://www.buckalgonquin.com/pages/ProductPages/Products.html - source

strut is beyond repair. We completely lost the whole rudder if that gives you an idea of the damage. No one was hurt thank god.

From Buck Algonquin, any idea if any of their struts in stock would work for a v-drive nautique. I don't know all the specs. I just know the shaft is http://nautiqueparts.com/struts-14mod.aspx%20 - 1 1/8 and this is the list of http://www.buckalgonquin.com/pages/ProductPages/drivetrain/main_strut.html - Stock items from algonquin

They'll do custom but I would need all the specs of the strut

Once again, are you sure the strut can't be straightened?
You did not answer my question if you took it someplace to take a look at it!!???

Some pictures of the damage would also be helpful.

Shop that's doing the repairs says strut is too far gone for straigtening. I believe them. Here's a pic of the repaired fiberglass before it's been buffed out.

I found a strut in stock at N3 boatworks in IN. Extremely happy that I won't be boatless for the remainder of the Summer,

Thanks for the help.
