The past couple of time I took my boat out this season, my exhaust is really getting loud.I can't describe it but It's very throaty and grumbly. Do mufflers go bad after a while? It's an '86 Nautique with a 351.
Thanks,
Ken

Certainly Could. Also low water volume from the raw water pump can have effect. Also when you loose the flappers the sound reflects back and gets louder. When on a lift or trailer, your should be able to see the partitions int he mufflers. they should be oriented 12 oclock.
