| I need to get a the edge of the hull for a minor scratch repair, but the trailer wheelwell is in the way. If I can life the back of the boat up a foot or so, should have plenty of room. Couldn't I just use the rear ring to lift the hind end up? I seem to remember somebody telling me the front and rear rings are used to hoist the boat in the factory. |

At the factory?? How about elsewhere??  What part of the country are you in?????
These pictures were taken this spring. The beams are across the slips supporting the boats for winter lay up. (some weight on the lifting eyes as well) Otherwise, it's very common to hang them all summer. 
This picture is in my garage when I was doing the final bow stop location for tongue weight after rebuilding the TeeNee trailer for the Atom. 
Do you have a engine hoist? If not and if you plan on doing any lifting from the ceiling of your garage, tell me about the construction. Also, you may simply what to try the "jack stand trick". Lower the tongue as low as you can get it with the jack stand. Block up the corners of the boat at the transom. Raise the tongue with the jack stand. Is the fender welded on? Mine is not. If it is screwed on, just remove fender & wheel, then you cab access your repair.

I just want to mention one important thing. It's best that you take a look under the decks and inspect the lifting eyes mounting before using them. There have been problems ether with rotted wood that's glassed in the hull for their anchoring or even rusted hardware/brackets. CC didn't use the best materials below deck. Well if this wasn't Deja Vu -- Yesterday due to strong current & wind, the boat was biased to one side on the trailer so much that the chine clipped the fender on the way up the ramp (steep ramp too). It chipped the paint on the fender & chipped the gel - but fortunately only about 1/8 inch spot.
