the non-easter weekend will work best for me. Just a suggestion here Marty, but Donald was telling me that at the midwest reunion, there were some brief instructional type events such as a shaft alignment. I wonder if that could be coordinated with White Lake or one of the mechanically minded CCFAN member/attendees. My interests would be:
shaft alignment
timing adjustment
carb adjustment
a repacking seminar
buffing tutorial
just some suggestions. I've tinkered with all of the above, but don't really know enough to be proficient at any of it. Also, it would be awesome to have some props available. I think I'm going to be in the market for an ACME 540 or 542 by then and would love to be able to try them. Seems like that'd be a good venue for doing some of that. Just trying to think of some cool stuff to make a great event even better. What do you think?

I would prefer later in May, because it could be cold around Easter. It was warmer than usual earlier this year. First time I went skiing during Easter in a long time. Tommy who works at White Lake Marine could teach all of that stuff. And Thomas who used to work there, but now done the road could do it too.

I Like these ideas, and having different props to try would be great too!
I could do a power point presentation on a stringer rebuild.

Steve,
If Reid P comes, he will likely bring a selection of props to try out. He did this at the last two reunions. He did it for Marty a few weeks ago as his Mooresville Dealership. If his schedule will allow I am sure he will try to make it.
Also, you forgot to add tubing technique class to your list.
Pete did a nice job at Green Lake on the Shaft Alignment class. It was viedo taped and will go on the site when Keith gets some spare time.
Marty has agreed to buff my boat at this event. So everyone can just watch Marty buff my boat. I just have to make sure he does not paint my rims purple like his.
I would be intrested in Carb Adjustments or rebuilds. Holley 101
Alway glad to help,

Donald,
You beat me to it. I was going to offer up my boat for the buff tutorial rig.
Regarding the tubing. No self respecting CC owner would ever admit to being a tuber right? However, maybe the guy that was there last time with the BFN could give some barefooting tips. I don't know..just sayin'
Regarding ReidP. That would be great if he brought some props. I'd love to see how mine performs with one of the above mentioned ACME props. I'm hoping to get a couple more MPH on the top end.

How are we looking for this event? Guiford county Schools spring break starts April 15th and we will be at Bald Head Island until the 22cnd. The 29th - 1st sounds good to me.

Still speaking as the new guy, is there any chance of holding this after the first of May? I'm in Ohio and my dad's in Georgia so White Lake makes the most sense for us to get both boats in the same place. Unfortunately May 1 is the first day I can get mine out of rack storage and I'd feel like I was cheating on her if I went alone.

I have a lot going on before Memorial Day....... Plus the Masters at Callaway is Memorial Day Weekend.
I am willing to host something at Smith Mountain Lake (SW Virginia) for those who wish to gather a little later. It seems as though most on this thread are from western NC or further west. Roanoke would be easy and the water is warm June on..........
If White Lake doesn't work out.... a mini-mini reunion at SML would work.

OK guys, we need a date. I went to White Lake Marine today, and Diane said she wants to know a date, so they can advertise. Last year there was no local advertisement about it. She likes the idea of doing it during the Water Festival, so it could tie end with some of those events, and we pull our rigs through the parade etc. which is May 20-22. They are taking several boats to the Raleigh Boat Show this coming weekend, leaving on Friday, Feb. 4. She would like to advertise a date while up there.

We can do it but we have to have a birthday party for my daughter on the 21st. She will be turning 4 and she loves "Daddy's boat". What lodging is nearby? If there there is another event going on we would need to get booked ASAP.

I've been throwing some dates at White Lake, and it looks like April 29,30--- would be the better fit.
It's 'before' the season down there starts for them, we'll have the lake to ourselves, too early it might be a little chilly, too late in May-- The Masters is like the 27th.
It just seems like we'd get 'Lost' in that Water Festival. That would be kinda nice though-- get alot of advertisement--.
Kinda still trying to work out a few bugs, but if everyone wants to start chiming in with their thoughts on some dates- chime away. They said just about any date from the April 29th--on looks good for them.

The spring is gonna be a hard time for our group to make White Lake..... (love to go, though). We are taking time to run down to Callaway for the Masters.
I will try to slip away for a get together at Lake Norman, if we do that again this year.......... A September gathering at our place (Smith Mountain Lake) should be very do-able for us, if anyone is interested.

Ok Fella's-- E-mailed Townsend with the dates
April 29,30-May 1st, 2011.
The only reason for this, is they really want to ADVERTISE this get-together really well this year.
Radio airplay, newspapers, maybe a couple magazines!
They are really exicted about this again this year, as they commented on the 'Love' for our 'Correct Crafts'. So I'll pass more info along as I recieve it guys. Be on the lookout for another posting, as they might put one up or get Keith to Thumbtack us one on the site.
Thanks again guys and hope to see ya there!!

My family and I are planning to attend. We plan to arrive on Friday afternoon and to leave out on Sunday morning.
Keegan, I have 2 young daughters (6 and 4) so if that encourages you to make it a family thing, then great. We'll be staying at the motel which isn't 5 star but it's clean enough for us. To the others, the campground doesn't allow tents so I wouldn't plan it based on that.
I'll give fair warning that my CC will be towing an inflatable at some point during the day. My 4 year old got a new one for Xmas and I'm not telling her that we can't take it just to keep you CCFan people from giving me hell about it. Anybody that wants to ride it is welcome and I'll promise to keep it between us.

I think WLM went to a boat show this weekend in Raleigh. Let me get him an e-mail Monday and see what's in store. Motel room wasn't much last year though. Maybe by next-weekend, everyone can start booking a room.
I'm gonna get Keith to post one of those CCFan Boat sheets so everyone can fill it out and tell about your boat. If it's all OE, restored,re-powered, etc.
Fill it out guys, so the Judges know how to judge your boat. Get those notebook plastic covers or get it Laminated when done, then you can use it at all the Events. This helps the Judges out, plus gives a little History on your boat.
Thanks again Guys, and hopefully I or WLM will let ya know about lodging next weekend.

Steve,
No I have not found a straight BI Boom yet. I just checked out one that was listed last night without a picture on Ski it Again.com. The person sent me a picture today but it is a Contour Boom.
I am just now looking hot and heavy for a BI Straight Boom. I know that BI offers the extension for the kids. I am not sure if that extension will mount on the other makes of booms.
My kids ( 13 and 10 girls) will be coming to White Lake with me and possibly the wife. The wife has not said no yet and has not said yes. I think that is a yes.
Wix makes a good filter. I was using PCM, but I am now using a Motorcraft filter. I am just trying to help you out because you will need it if you break out a Tube and Beach that beautiful boat at White Lake.

Im penciling this in on my calendar... would be cool to make it down that way at the end of April.
Donald, Ive got a Casad boom if youre interested. Same design as the BI. The parts are completely interchangeable- so its compatible with the BI extension. I wouldnt be surprised if the 2 booms came out of the same factory- the only difference I can see is the color of the end cap and cables (yellow instead of red).

There will be plenty of room on the boats. Steve is offering Tube Rides. You are welcome to join us.
We can pick you up at a local Air Port (Charlotte) and take you to White Lake with no problem. Wilmington, NC is about 45 minutes ( I think) from White Lake, NC. It may be best for you to fly to Wilmington. We can work it out.

Okay guys sorry for the delay as we are in the middle of boat show season. I called White Lake Motel and Campground which is where you stayed last year and got y'all squared away. The rooms are $50 per night and she is wide open that weekend so feel free to start ringing her phone off the hook to book your rooms. I am working to get some more stuff offered to everyone this year. I have some things up my sleeve that I hope will work out. (just wanted to tease a lil bit!----hey a lil suspense never hurt anyone!) We can't wait to see you all!!!!
FYI- Since I have another boat show coming up within the next two weeks I may not be able to check the forum as often as I would like. I will keep tabs as much as I can but if you have something pressing feel free to email me at townsend@whitelake.com or call me at (910)874-8088. Take care!

OK guys, Make those Reservations now! Hope ya'll can make this event. And if you're working on a boat, you don't have to rush to finish it. You can come without one, as there will be plenty of boats there.
I'm getting Keith to post the Boat 'Form' that lets you tell about your boat. Even a place for pics of your boat. Once done take it to Office Depot and get it laminated. If you need help on it, he can help or maybe some of us can help you get it filled out.
Also I might start a sign-up post. Let's have a GREAT Showing and hope to see ya there!
Thanks Again Guys

So, you guys are wanting to make this like I hear the 'BIG' reunions are.
Most of you are leaning towards:
Tune Up Clinic
Alignment Clinic
Winterization Clinic
Carb Rebuild Clinic
Electrical/Mechanical Diagnostic Clinic
Anything else? Post here and Townsend/WLM will monitor this Thread and see what they can put together.
Also if something simple like Burgers and Dogs are OK, let us know here and we can figure out if 'we CCFans' will need to bring any of these items or if Townsend is gonna 'spring' for this

Chris-- We surely wouldn't have you bringing anything except that famous 'Iowa' corn . No you wouldn't have to bring anything, especially if you're flying. You really would get the 'Pat Down' at the airport
And Keegan- a few suds and buds is allright, but has to kept on the low-down. This is a Christian Place of nature.

Marty,
I plan to call you within the next several days to see how I can help you with this so keep me in mind if there's something I can do. At this point, my family and I are planning to head toward WL on Friday the 29th as soon as the kids get credit for being at school (I think that's noon). This puts us arriving at WL b/w 3 and 4. I'd be happy to help out in any way possible.
As far as the clinics go, I'd be interested in hearing any and all information about CC maintenance, but would be most interested in hearing about shaft alignment and carb rebuild/maintenance.

Don't worry I clean up perty good. With the family around I am fairly tame !
After thinking about it a Holley carb clinic would be great.

RDU Raleigh is closest. I could pick you up from the airport Friday afternoon ideally within a window of 1pm to 4pm. Or if Greensboro GSO is cheaper that is just as easy but move the ideal window to anytime am till 2 or 3pm.

I believe that Wilmington, NC is 45 minutes from White Lake. There is a Air Port at Wilmington. However, there may not be anyone going that way since Wilmington is on the coast.
I hope you can make it.

White Lake Marine (WLM) will provide us a good 'ole NC BBQ Saturday at NOONish.
We're on our own for supper that nite. So,Burgers & Dogs or POTLUCK!??
Here's what Townsend e-mailed me ::
Hey bro!
Wanted to touch base with you on Mini 2011. We will cater lunch on Saturday with some good ole fashioned NC BBQ! Other meals will have to be on y'all. I can get a cooker for you again, however, I cannot get gas for it as it belongs to my fire department and they don't loan out the gas cylinders. If one of your guys can bring an lp tank that will work. Let me know your thoughts and ideas. Hope all is going well.

Marty,
Yes, I'll bring two tanks. I'll also bring the paper towels, napkins and some foil trays and tin foil, so to recap, I'm bringing:
2 propane tanks
wrench
grill lighter
cooking utensils (spatula, tongs etc.)
paper towels
Napkins
foil trays
tinfoil
Does anyone remember if they had refrigerators in those rooms?
Also, Marty et al, what do ya'll think of establishing a Saturday dinner time of about 7:00 or 7:30PM. I realize this may be a little later than some usually eat dinner, but with all that will be going on that day, a later dinner time will give us more time to play on the lake. My crew will require a late snack to make that work, but can make do with the later dinner time if everyone else can. We'll be in daylight savings time by then and if the weather's nice, I'm hopeful that we'll all be having a good time out on the water and won't want to cut it short to come back and cook/eat.
Thoughts?

Steve I am with you on the later dinner time. My kids will be fine too with an afternoon snack.
I will do an estimate for food quantities depending on how many sign up and will pick it up on the way Friday. So far we have talked about burgers and dogs. Maybe some salads as sides- fruit, pasta, potato, greens to eliminate having to cook anything else. I am open to suggestions.

Keegan, any decent grocery store will probably have some deli made pasta, potato or fruit salad. That'd be the best low hassle way to take care of that. I believe there are refrigerators in the rooms and if so, picking it up on Friday and keeping it in the fridge overnight would be the way to go. WL isn't really convenient to alot of shopping so grabbing that stuff on the way in will be alot more convenient.

A barefoot run sounds good even to us old folks. Knees not what they used to be but the desire still there. Just a hint to age: I was in the 100 to join the AWSA Barefoot club when the minimum time was 1 minute, certified by Al Crockett, if anyone remember him.

Just a reminder again guys. Either all who are going to attend with BOATS, send me an E-Mail mtmabe@northstate.net so I can send you the Form to fill out about your Boat. Keep it brief, but when you purchased it and what you have done to it. Restore, stringers up, or just new upholstery,or 1 seat recovered, etc. Engine, trailer mods, etc.
Because this will help out on your scoring by the Judges. If an all OE boat, then it's judged accordingly. A boat that has been restored- then judged by that.
I'm trying to get Keith to maybe put that Form in the Misc. Reference Section. It is in Microsoft Form application, and wouldn't you know it, but it won't open in mine because I think I have a virus in there.
So either type something up, maybe a pic or two of your boat, then put it in a clear folder or get it Laminated.
Thanks Guys!

Greetings folks! Just officially joined today, but have read CCF for quite a while. I have a house at White Lake NC (since 1965) and sincerely hope to join the party on weekend of April 29. Had the second Ski Nautique on White Lake; mine is 1973, first was 1970 belonging to the Dr. Gale Johnson family from Dunn NC. I still have mine, mostly original with the exception of some duct tape on the seats and a Southwind ski pole we installed to do ski shows for what was then the Blueberry Festival (now called Water Festival). It is a tangerine solid color hull (only one like it I have ever known that existed at White Lake) with ivory deck; no script down the side. It is a dead ringer for the Correct Craft cut sheet for early model Ski Nautiques posted here on CCF. Carl and Dianne are the (4th) owners we have known at White Lake Marina and are exceptional folks! I'llkeep looking for updates on any scheduled events or cruise arounds that are planned. Glad to be aboard!! Spot (graham white)

Are you sure about the above? With White Lake Marine "claiming" to be the oldest CC dealer, I'm surprised there's not a earlier SN. Keep in mind they started producing them in 1961.
