Sorry if I sounded like a jerk, but I just have absolutely zero tolerance for DUI. It's not like it isn't already hard enough watching out for all the idiots who drive around sober (whether land or water). I can't even imagine my reaction if I happen to get in a serious accident where any of my family or myself were injured by some selfish ***************.

I agree Kap, they seem to be all about these "crackdowns" at certain times of the year where they enforce heavily for a weekend (typically a holiday weekend), then it gets more relaxed.

It also just gripes me that people are getting away with this all the time, but I can't pull my wife skiing without a watcher without facing certain penalty . I wish I were in one of the states who didn't care about that stupid law.

city income down, writing tickets is up
my cop friend was use to writing between 100 to 120 tickets a month, he is having a beef with the chief right now and now he says he writes the minimum....1 per shift.
Staties do have a qouta, and he always tells me to watch it at the end of the month
DUI's fines are around the 450.00 mark plus court costs...so I would imagine that there is some encouragement there, there are the guy's that drink one or two beers and handle themselves well..i dont condone drinking and driving but damn I made sure my tail light was working the other night

When I was a young lad, they wouldn't let coolers or booze in when you went to the Drive In Movie, but that never stopped me, beer doesn't always have to be in a cooler!!!

There have been 4 people killed this summer on Lake Norman, NC. 2 I know of that were alcohol related. I am also a hunter and pilot. I like my occasional beer but in the right place at the right time. Flying, hunting, boating and driving are not the times.

When it comes to beer drinking I consider myself a professional.
The problem with these laws is the amount they have come up with to be considered intoxicated.
If I have two to three beers than blow in the tube I would be considered intoxicated and at that point I am far from intoxicated.
Now there are rookies out there that have three beers and think they're superman.
I think there should be better way to measure the level of intoxication than a .8 through a tube.

if they carried an ugly girl in the back seat and let you rate her, that would be more precise, with three beers in you, she would still need a bag on her head....for some

Listen fk the game wardens and the laws. I have my boat on a lake where you can have beers on the boat but if intoxicated then you got probs. I believe I am a professional drinker and know how to mix the two of lake fun and being ignorant.
In 06, I wuz pulled over by a game warden doing 10mpnh, enjoying the sunset, drinking a cold one by myself and thinking of the good ol days. Next thing I know game warden ask me for my registration and license. Showed everything perfectly, took the all the tests perfectly but the dumb ass when he asked me to do a hand patt, 1-2-1-2-1-2, did not know wuz LEFT HANDED. Anyway, asked me to go to ground and do more tests and passed them all but missed one number in the one-thousand’s test.
So I got arrested, spent a night in jail for this mishape when I wuz not intoxicated at all and literally did what was asked. Make a long story short, went to court over this, and won with eas and then suied the little Mexican fker and now his ass wishes he could bring people down. Being intoxicated is not cool on the lakes, but damb enjoy yourself to where you can have fun and follow the laws. 2 beers per hr is normal, but if you exceed that you become intoxicated. Have fun, cause I am!!
