I wouldn't know where to start on a planning committee, but I would like to attend and would help out with drinks/food if needed - I am on Lanier every weekend and would like to meet some other CCF locals

THANKS

I had that 1st post aimed at Tim this morning, but I guess it went wide.

Amy and I are clear through the end of October, so what we need is a date. We'll get the BBQ and the rest will fall into place. Also, a concern about invitations got back to me from last year...if you're reading this, you and yours are welcome! We have some space here, and there's a Holiday Inn ~10 minutes away.

Mark, it's a shame we haven't already met. We seldom go below Gainesville marina, so that's probably why. We're on Little River.

because of the convenience factor we usually put in at Charleston and hang around 6 Mile Creek area or go up in 4 Mile if the kids want to ski - in my little boat main lake on the weekends gets scary sometimes, but yes I agree I would like to meet up sometime - were usually out every weekend and sometimes 1x during the weekday evenings - in the future I will send you a message of day/time and maybe we'll drive a litte further to ramp up your end of the lake and try to hook up THANKS

Roger mentioned a while back that they might be interested if this happens in Oct; so that makes 3 votes. I wonder how the weather will hold out...2nd or 3rd weekend?

Mellish is giving his long term fall forecast tomorrow. I bet it's for hot and dry.

Wow! Something I might be able to attend provided it is not the first weekend in Oct.
Keep us posted as it is not that far away and it sounds like a fun time.
This is the time of year that I get to ski alot and get away from the tournament scene. Weather will be fine!!!

I'm in the middle of my '77 nautique rebuild, and the plans say I'll be done around the 24th. I've saved lots of pictures for future posting because they are all over 500 megapixles. I'll get around to that eventually, but all my spare time is going to boat work, not computer education. Maybe I can pull it together in time for something. The main stringers are in, and I'll start on the secondaries on saturday. I get two of three days between saturday and monday. The motor comes back from Carolina Machine on friday. I can work on that in the garage at night. Based on other stringer rebuilds, this on is going quickly. It's just 200 hours of work, after all, right? By the way, Keegan, thanks for the in-depth thread. It has helped immensely.

Patti and I attended last year...this is a do not miss event. If for nothing else but Amy's chicken surprise or whatever its called.

Unfortunatly for us tho October is shaping up to be a very busy month. We have a Tennessee trip planned for the 8-10 and an Emmaus weekend the 29-31. Patti has something planned here locally for the 16th. So you guys just call it and if we can make it we'll try.

Sure would love to see all you guys before the river run. Thats still a long way off.

Sorry I missed the post Greg, I was working a Habitat House yesterday and didn't get to the site till today.      I know that I'm definately out the 2nd weekend as our church is doing a BBQ funraiser.

It looks like the first weekend is out for many so looks like we may have to shoot for 3rd or 4th weekend. I've my girls the third weekend but they have asked about going camping sometime this year. Are there any camp sites open after Labor Day?

Yep, nothing going on this weekend as of now and don't have much planned for Halloweekend either. We could do a reunion/costume party Sat night and even have a twilight Hooch run in costumes. but I know that leaves the Skicat's out.

I'm also game for bringing up the smoker and smoking some chicken for Sunday afternoon or Sat night whichever works out best for the crew.

Where to start...

John        You and Patti got this started last year and would be sorely missed. Hopefully something will work out.

Steve, I pulled the thread title from the country song. Yes, L Lanier.

Charger, no boat required.

Tim, the campsites are on the south end; not sure if they are open. We can find out, but it's a solid 30 minutes from here by water. There's plenty of room to camp here if you like.

As long as we don't have to use an outhouse and there's a "public shower" to use we're good.

Can't wait to fire up the new Southwind and see what the top end is! I may have to buy an ACME 540 as I here that is the prop to have for my setup.

Nearly a full month later than last year... but I guess these things don't matter down in the south... I vote we put that date in stone and start to run with it... every other one pushes someone out... and I am sure this one may do the same but at least if we finalize it before we hear about that then we did all we could...

I would recommend that any one reading this go back and check out the last few pages of last years thread as it should help you make the right decision...

Well put Joe; looks like we're set.

I looked through some weather history and we can hope for highs in the low 70's and lows in the 50's. Who knows, the w/e after we got together last year was picture perfect. That weather pattern we were in last year is now being called the 500 year rain. Things are much dryer this year.

So...WooHoo and it's on!

Here's the http://www.laniercentrehotel.com/ - Holiday Inn . We didn't need it last year, but it's pretty nice compared to others I've been to.

We'll fill the house up first, but if anyone does stay there I may join them for breakfast...it's a buffet like Shoney's used to do.

Marty, we'll find a spot for you and Karen if you want to stay here. I haven't taken any dibs yet, so I'm thinking we'll let everyone have their say and go from there.

All be forewarned...we didn't get our 4 star rating this year.    The accomodations are pull-outs and space for an air mattress or for tent camping. A few areas are under light remodeling, and there's more than a few pieces of displaced furniture. Heck, not so different from last year!

I don't want to continue building on an old 2010 thread, but since most of the central GA CCF members are on this thread I am going to throw this back out there and see if anyone is interested in meeting up sometime on Lanier. I think it would be nice to just shake some hands of other members and maybe do a potluck meal or something at a central location on the lake. I have met up with jimsport93 a few times this year in passing on the water and I am always keeping an eye out for other CCF member boats. So it is open for discussion now if anyone is interested.
THANKS

Funny you should mention this Mark as I was kinda thinking the same thing only on the thread that Mike or Greg started here about a month ago. I was curious to see if the Atlanta guy's were interested in a gathering of our own next weekend on July 29th-31st. Any takers or suggestions?

I was on Lake Burton all week last week. Lots of old CC's. I saw one that I recognized from CC Fan. It was a white mid 90's with a custom blue (i think) swoop on the side. No lettering. I couldn't chase it, as I was in my aunt's pontoon boat at the time. Who was that?!
