hey guys, the throttle arm on my '96 SN is slightly off. It's neutral position is at approximately 1 o'clock. It doesn't seem to affect anything but it is annoying to me to know that it shouldn't be like this. Is there an easy way to adjust it back to the 12 o'clock position?

Has it always been that way?

Did you replace the cable(s)?

Does it lock so it will not go in gear by mistake?

Ive seen people do this so that the throttle isnt as far down (easier to reach comfortably) when at their common skiing speeds.

To adjust, just loosen the set screw on the bottom of the lever, remove the lever and reindex.

thanks TRBenj, i will try that tonight.

behindpropeller, it has been this way since I bought the boat 3 months ago, it functions properly, locks into neutral upon return, just seems to be indexed at the wrong position. I am not sure if the cable has ever been replaced.

Allen wrench to take off. When you have it off, check the backing plate(index plate) , it'll have 2 'notches' in it. See if they are 12:00 and 6:00 position.

The shift lever is splined and you can adjust it.

Didn't know if it was an index problem or shift cable problem.
