Yes Keith, Just got in from 'Date Nite'

Mr. Tim Morfoot took the pic of 'THE ONE' 's flyby at White Lake 2010. If you could widen the pic, I was probably 100 yards behind them.

I was thinking a little bio of each boat that winds up in the calendar, or a little bit about the event/day it was taken, would be cool as well. Maybe it could be taken from the boat's diary on CCF, or maybe from the person who was there and took the picture.

I was thinking this info could go on the opposite page, sitting above the actual days in the calendar.

Right now, I'm looking at October's picture for 2010. It has a picture of two beautiful SNs, one green and one blue. I just happen to know they must be late 70's or very early 80's (pre 2001 hull) but I don't know much else about them.

Just for example: "This is Mike Succi's 2005 210 Air Nautique. Mike and the guys were enjoying a fantastic day of boarding and surfing on Northwood Lake during the 2010 Northeast Correct Craft Fan Reunion."

Thanks for the nomination, Marty! Interestingly enough, as I posed the boat I made a comment to my wife and the couple that were with us that it'd be cool to get the boat in the CCF calendar. The other couple who are only just now understanding my obsession thought I was joking. My wife has heard enough to know I wasn't. I actually had to push the boat around a good bit to get it positioned that way. That's rock under the boat, not sand so it had to be arefully walked around to get it in that position. The light wasn't optimal and that was a borrowed camera, but I think it turned out pretty good anyway.

Those rocks are under water in June, but the channel is still plenty deep. That lake is 316' at the deepest spot and probably averages 150'+, but there are shallow areas. First time we ever had an inboard in so late in the fall. 27 degrees the night before.

I wonder if they'd be a way to put the blue and white mustang fly by in the same page with white and green mustang flyby. Almost like if the page was split horizontally, and they were stacked?

It's really cool how the boats looks so similar and are "flying" in the same way.

Thanks jbear for your nice comments. I know my dad is smiling. I would never want him to leave where he is, but it would be nice if he could ride with us one more time. Godfather, a picture running together would be great. Maybe we can get that pic one day. All the nominations are wonderful. Love seeing all those classic boats, and how people take such great care of them. I can always say I am blessed with the people I have met while carrying on conversations about these boats. I think the Meloon family can say these boats are definitely used for the glory of God in our chance to meet and witness. Thanks again to all.

.....any chance of you taking a big gulp of shut the $%&* up, and leaving me alone . Now that I think of it, I think you're absolutely right, and I promise to pull it off this week. Or maybe just charge the battery.......again.

As for Jeff's Separator, the engine is obviously too large and powerful and causing the stern to sit lower; automatic calendar disqualification! Kidding of course as that boat is hot and REALLY needs to be in the calendar, but that's just my one vote. Gotta bring that beast to the next Midwest reunion!

That Separator pic from the brochure looks almost like there's a bench running up the side rather than a second bucket. I've seen pics of smaller Donzis that are set up like that. I think it's pretty cool.

Here is another pic I'm nominating. I grabbed it from the Midwest Reunion recap thread:

That Separator rocks! Definite calendar-material if you'd ask me.

Hi, Keith
Having some problems downsizing the photo of our boat from my file to this page; could you just use the existing pic that's on/in the CCF file to post it for the calendar photo entry?
Thanks for your help!

Phil! Awesome picture! I hope everything is recovering as well as you could hope out at Delhi. Shoot me an email. My Dad asks me everytime we talk if I have heard from the guy getting the Ski Nautique re-gel'd.

Sorry for the thread jack!

Jeff,

If you have the wife on board for GL you are already ahead of the game. You definitely need to bring that sweet boat up there! You'll both have a great time.

Very cool boat, needs to be in the calendar for sure.

Some pictures i took from previous summer, the quality isnt as good at the originals that i have, and these pictures are about 75% smaller than the originals as well.

Wow! That looks a lot like my first Nautique! Hmmmm... Does it not have combing pads? How long have you had her and where did she come from? Just curious, as there weren't many brown ones around this part of the midwest, at least. Looks good!!

Dad bought this in 84 from a camp in Chattanooga Tn, and he passed it down to me 3yrs ago. since then only thing ive had to replace is oil pump and rebuild the carb, and has 2066hrs which this winter im gonna pull the engine and pull the heads off to see the condition of the cylinder walls and repaint the whole engine. I dont normally see any ski nautiques around my area that are around my yrs. Everyone complements the ole gal and is always amazed to hear about how many hrs it has on it. and im not sure by what you mean by combing pad

Keep the photos coming. I'll be accepting nominations through October 31st. I'll then be selecting the top photos.

Thanks,
Keith

I was thinking a little bio of each boat that winds up in the calendar, or a little bit about the event/day it was taken, would be cool as well. Maybe it could be taken from the boat's diary on CCF, or maybe from the person who was there and took the picture.

I'm reiterating my vote for blurbs on the boats. Stuff like:

-Year and model of the boat, especially if it's a rarer one
-Engine specs, especially if it's been modified or is a rarer option
-Restoration info it it applies
-where the picture was taken
-how you use the boat.

Not all of the pictures would have to have all of that, but a little bit of info would definitely add to the pictures.

well about my boat,
in this order
A)-Year and model of the boat, especially if it's a rarer one
B)-Engine specs, especially if it's been modified or is a rarer option
C)-Restoration info it it applies
D)-where the picture was taken
E)-how you use the boat.
F)-hours on current state of the boat after engine rebuild (if rebuilt at all)

A) 1979 Ski nautique

B) Engine: 351 windsor, 4 barrel holly, no aftermarket modifications to the engine.
   Audio: JL 12 on a 300 watt amp, 2 alpine 6x9s w/ 150watts a piece, 2 6" clarion speakers, pioneer premier cd player.

C) Only thing replaced was interior with new brown, and floors replaced with 3/4 thick plastic board.

D) Hiwassee river Tn near day beacon 9.4

E) Pull tubes, wakeboard, and kneeboard. i run roughly a 500Lbs fat sack in the back for wakeboarding, and do not use a pole extension. My buddy can do flips just off the ski pole with fat sack easy.

F) Currently have 2066hrs last time i checked

Keith,
I don't really see enough photos or votes for any of them other than those who have nominated them. What is considered a "top" photo? Just wondering...

Last year everyone had a vote of three photo's for each month. You must have a ton of other pictures your considering then? Do the "fans" get to vote?

Moj'
PS: the successful pictures from last year were ones without people. And to add a bunch of text to a 8-1/2X 11 calendar will take away from the photo in my humble opinion.. Perhaps year, make and model only..

Remember the old "Snap on' tool calendars guys?????? Do you really care what their names were or what the chicks interests are??? Yeah Not so much hahahaha...

Remember, the sales of the calendars benefit the site. They should be made as generic as possible, with some high quality pics of "BOATs". It what I would buy as a "CC Fan"... Gotta think of the mass interest...

I agree with Moj.

Year, Model, Owner, City/State.

My idea would be to have the info on the opposite page, meaning above the actual calendar numbers, not interfering with the picture.

Of course!! How am I supposed to talk to them if I don't know what they're into

If their interests include waterskiing, wakeboarding and vintage inboards then I really want to know

Mojo,
I have a few other photos that haven't been posted here. I will narrow them down and group them for people to vote on.

Not sure Keith can change the actual page where the dates are. The page above contains the pictures. Check the one you bought this year (sorry, don't know if you got one)...
Never the less, year make, model, that's all that's needed Hell @ 5 feet away on a wall, I can't even read the calendar day numbers.. This is not a poster size product in case you haven't seen one...

Then again, my eyes are about shot hahahaha..

I think it would be cool to see some basic info- year and model of the boat, who the owner is, and where it calls home, at a minimum. What about adding the text to the picture itself- tuck it into a corner that doesnt interfere with the boat itself and just print it with a contrasting font color?

I think if you're gonna include info about the boat of the month it should be Year, Model, Owner, where taken, and who took it. Most of us regular members (and those who would more than likely purchase a calender) knows where the boat lives. A great shot of a CCFan members' boat might be taken on a lake that isn't it's normal playground. I'd bet half of if not the majority of pictures are taken at reunions or gatherings. To include this info on the calender just might have a positive affect and entice members to attend if they know the many pictures taken during these events might end up being a great calender shot for the following year. Just my $.02
