I was looking under my boat yesterday (87 SN 2001) and noticed that the first skeg (fin) in the front was a little off center. Can i just apply a little pressure to it to put it back in line?

I probably wouldnt.. it is just screwed in and even if you didnt crack the gelcoat or glass in that area you would probably work the screws loose and open yourself up for some water intrusion or worse. Take it off take it to guy with a press (local machine shop or prop shop) have him straighten it out then reinstall...

I understood the fins are glued as well.
Tried to take one off, but didn't came loose after removing the screws.

Not glued but a pretty good bond if a decent sealer was used. If you do remove them, I suggest putting them back on wth 3M 5200 or at least 4200.
From another thread on a strut but the same senerio:

A freind of mine has been having trouble removing the strut, being set up in the hull, as the picture shows!
any suggestions on removal? |
Hot air gun on the strut and dead blow hammer. If that doesn't work, it can be hot wired off. It's just a PITA getting the wire started between the strut and the hull when they are set in the recess. |
