I have a 1971 Southwind and am changing the transmission fluid. What type of fluid do you use in the Velvet drive? I did see Type A in the service manual but am wondering if people are using the newer types.

Thanks for the help.

Greg

Greg,
Dexron/Mercon. Pretty common. The old type A isn't around anymore or at least real hard to find. The new stuff is better anyway. Do not put any additives in the trans. It's not a automotive automatic!!

Welcome to CCfan. How about some pictures?? Get some submitted for the diaries section as well.

Actually, its Dex III or Dex/Merc. Good point on the synthetic!
