Hey guys, new to the forum as this is my first post. I recently had the opportunity to buy a 84 2001. I started with wetsanding the hull and repairing any stress cracks/chips. I'm wondering what kind of paint I should use to do the stripes? Is it also possible to achieve a mirror finish with a rolled on paint job? I've searched the forums and also google, but the options are endless. Which has created some gray areas for me, just want to get this right the first time. Thanks in advance.

Also does anyone know the paint codes for the 3 different shades of blue stripes? Clearly not finding it in the reference section......thanks again.

Hi there!!
whats the condition of the floor/stringers? as many of the stress cracks are due to weak rotted stringers...might wanna check that before addressing the paint job...
Also note that Gelcoat is the way to go!!!
What year boat you have? As far as I know till 81 all stripes were painted with rustoleum or like over the hull gel....

Yeah the stringers and floors are rotted from the pylon forward, was going to start with that project first but figured this would tide me over until I've finished my research. It's a 84 and I believe the stripes were painted with rustoleum. This wil probably sound noobie but will any kind of rustoleum work?

Welcome to the site Mike,
It is the standard rustoleum. I redid my 83. I had to call rustoleum to get the exact colors. They were very helpful.
You dont want to roll it.
