Happy Birthday Bill!
I hope neither of you are over 50, because you're both in 10 times better shape than me and I'd hate to think you were older ......

Bill was 68 on the 13th..I'm gonna be 60 on the 26th.
Mom turns 91 in May so it is either good genes or good living.
BTW, we've got a friend, Ralph Shick that we've been sking with for just short of 40 years that turned 71 this fall. Just gave up deep waters last year but still does 3 man runs with us. Gotta hang on to beat him or Bill.

What year did you guys get into skiing? Was it with your family or the ski club?
I love hearing this stuff. My wife and I have become the oldest in our group at 55 & 53. All our "elders" have given it up, including my old ski buddy Steve Z from Asheville, NC who gave it up at 57 two years ago. I got my brother up for the first time in 10 years, 3 years ago and was later told by his wife and daughter that he shouldn't ski anymore. I need to show this thread to a few people.

I learned on the Huron river with my Dad and a friend of his that had a boat. Tri-hull, twin 45hp Mercs. Thought it was so cool. Not sure where Bill learned. Bill found the West Shore Water Ski Club in '68 or '69. The rest as they say is history.
BTW..speaking of 'elders' Eddie and I skiied this Fall with a guy from our Club named Paul Inman..he is 82. Got up on a slalom ski and skiied all over the place. Taught him to foot on the boom when he was 67. Its never to late!

Once again guys thanks for all the birthday wishes and the warm "official welcome" to the site, although I hated to give up my status as the longest lurker on reord. I am currently in Florida visiting friends and family and will hook up with John on Friday. Hope to get to see him and Eddie foot on Saturday.
I also hope to have him help me get a picture of the boat posted along with my diary entry...I know, I know...I can hear the laughter out there now!!
