Thanks for the concern guys everything is fine in my part of the country. Chopper lives in Ipswich which was inundated by the floods but he is OK as well.

Have had lots of members contact me, it is nice to know that you have friends in other parts of the world concerned for us Aussies.

The floods in Queensland and Brisbane have been the worst in a long time. There are towns in central Qld there that have been isolated since Christmas with three consecutive floods. Brisbane has been hit with their biggest flood since 1974. That 74' flood resulted in Brisbane been rebuilt and turned into the beautiful city it is now. The reality of it all is that they will have to rebuild again after this flood.
These types of disasters bring people back together again as a community and neighbours that rarely speak are helping each other. Complete strangers are now turning up to help the Brisbane house owners clean up the muddy mess. This is one of the great things about being Australian we are very resilient people who will always get back up off the canvas. They have 20,000 registered volunteers in Brisbane wanting to help those impacted by the floods. Restores your faith in human nature and makes you proud to be Australian.

My oldest daughter has spent the last 5 years working on different boats on the Brisbane River. Luckily she took a job down at the Gold Coast about 50 miles south of Brisbane 6 months ago.

It is strange we have had a lot of small floods in Tamworth this summer but nothing like Queensland. Tamworth is town / city that has a history of floods. We have not had a big flood in 10 years. The biggest tourist event for our city is due to start this Friday. The "Tamworth Country Music Festival" it runs for 10 days and brings in many millions of dollars to our city. We have a history of flooding during this festival, I hope this is not the year of our big flood because I think we are overdue.

The weather pattern is all based around the temperature of the Pacific Ocean El Nino (usually a drought) and La Nina (heavy rains)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Ni%C3%B1o-Southern_Oscillation - Weather Patterns

They say this weather pattern will stay the same till March/April I hope not as the worst maybe yet to come.

I am now looking forward to the next drought.

The Front page of the world section in our newspaper had a picture of a guy waste deep in water carrying a Kangaroo in the streets of Brisbane.

Good to hear you are high and dry.

My kids (4, 6 and 9) were watching some video yesterday of the floods and listening to some reports. They were overwhelmed with the scenes. I was too. How endearing to hear the story of the 13 year old who asked that his 10 year brother be rescued instead of him. He was swept into the floods, along with his mother.

Glad to hear you guys are ok.

Mark, Glad to hear you're ok, Do you know James Spiro from QLD. He's a member here and purchsed Correct craft t-shirts from us a couple of times and it looks like he's in the thick of it. I sent an email but haven't heard back.

Allan I do not know of James, is he a CCfan member?. Most of the flood affected area still has no power and that includes the main CBD. The clean up is going to take plenty of work.

yes he's a member but I don't know his screen name, never seen him post but he's ordered tee shirts each time we do a sale. I figure they may not have all their services back yet.

My friends on the Brisbane River nearly lost their 99 Python Powered Super Air. Luckily, they are on a hill and had one of just a couple houses in the whole area that was not flooded out.

Best wishes and luck to all of you affected down there.
