Nautiquehunter, I talked to Brian Edwards @ Silver Sands (the Dad) we talked about our 2 dogs and Obie is 40 lbs. I assured him Obie is gentle and I was responsible for them. He said since it was still the off season he would bend the rules. We (I) also talked up CCFan and the love of these boats that bring "good" people together and how we will be back. I like Silver Sands because we "might" leave the boat in over nite so we can catch the butter at sunrise. P.S I looked @ your profile your 20 days older than me !!! Are there any other options besides Silver Sands for people bringing dogs? Campgrounds? Parking lots? Im holding out hope that we may be a last minute addition- but Tique hasnt been 40 lbs in several months! Im sure he'd like to get out of the snowbelt though.

To my knowledge, there's no camping (tent) on any part of the lake. That would be my preference. I think to stay on the lake it's pretty much Silver Sands or White Lake Motel. we also have two dogs (pomerians) we were going to bring but called whitelake motel and they said no dogs and silver sands said they only have 2 pet friendly rooms. so being this is still all new to us and them, looks like sam and spike are going to mom and dads for the weekend ------------- |

If you're bringing a boat, there will be a 'DONATION BUCKET' at the Welcoming Tent. This will only be a $10 fee to help 'offset' all the costs that WLM is doing for us. Now you can put ANY amount in the 'bucket' that you wish, but I will have to give WLM $10 for each boat entered in the Rig Contest, as I have already promised them this.
A few questions came up at SJRR 2011 about the White Lake 'Mini'. I will address these questions after I speak to some more individuals, and will post the 'Answers' in another thread. I will then ask your opinons about the 'questions' that are answered concerning this matter. I heard that the White Lake Campground may lift the pet weight restriction for this weekend....

Not in the cards for this year...hopefully next. I would make the trip just to sit in your boat and 'talk' to your Dad. Hopefully I can talk my nephew Brett who skis on Lake Wiley to come up and meet everyone. Only trouble...he'll have to leave his boat home. Even with the great example set for him by his Dad and his uncle he got such a deal on a brand x boat that he could not pass it up. We are all ( most) are staying at the White Lake Motel and Campground. The rooms are $50.00 a night for two double beds. All rooms are two double beds. There is a link within this site to the Motel. If we add the binding, ANYBODY can ski on it, plus later the binding will hit someone right in the face. You can probably just lock your big toe(s) in the shot holes. And Tim, if you won't at least even attempt to ski on just a slippery piece of narrow plywood, I don't think you're worthy of being on the CCFSS Team.

Last year was about 15 Boats--I'm thinking 16 CCFan members. 32 I think on the Head count total. Although only had about 16 at the cookout.
This year-some still haven't signed up  : thinking about 20 Boats, 22 CCFan members, and maybe 40 on the total head count. This is as close as I can tell with some of the no-signee's.

Just a thought. Last year, once we got on the water, we kinda played at the dock a good bit. Should we establish the dock as kind of the CCFan base while we're out playing for the day? Or consider something else? The Motel/Campground has that nice covered pavillon area on right on the beach with a very nice sandy swimming area that would be great for those that want to play in the water, sun on the sand etc. I can't remember what their dock set up was, but I was just thinking that it might be a good option. I don't think there's a sandbar type area on White Lake so that wouldn't be an option. It won't be quite "in season" for the White Lake locals so dominating the WL Marina docks probably isn't a problem, I just thought the WL Motel and Campground might be a better locale. Just asking. I hung out with my kids at the Camp Ground Dock for a few hours to let my kids play in the white sand. There really is not a lot of room to tie up a lot of boats. However, the dock is very big. There are a lot of those floating balls to tie up to, but they belong to someone somewhere. We can probably use those for a few hours. I do belive that using the Marina's (Boat Launch) long dock again this year may be the best option. I will take my kid ( only one is coming) to the sand to play again. I really do not know of a better place to go. It is a very small and very developed lake. There is a large public beach titled Goldston's ( I think), but I do not think that would be desirable. Yes, there are 'mooring bouys' at the Swim Area side. We'd have to ask about these, if we could use them for the day.

Ok then time to start making some reservations here.. My White Lake goals are as last year.. get in as much watersports time as possible to help me through a month of seriously cold water up north.
I see that by Friday noon there should be a few people around for me to impose on as drivers/spotters/fellow watersports enthusiasts.. Halston are you really going to be there by the 28th (thursday) and if so early enough to hit the water? Anyone else? I am assuming no one is staying later than sunday afternoon? We had by far the best weather and water of the event on the Friday before last year.. serious skiing/footing is probably going to be limited to early morning during the weekend. Well Jenn and i are leaving early thursday morning to pick up the boat in Columbia SC.It takes roughly 5hours to get there from my house Then from the driving straight to white lake motel which is about another 3 hours so i figure if we leave by 6:00am we could be there by 3:00 pm if we hustle but we should be there in enough time to put the new boat in and see how she runs

I didn't think you were going to make it. I am heading to Lake Gaston on Thursday afternoon/evening to pick up another boat to drag down. Yes guys--the Misses and I are 'spooning' with Hoss and Jenn !! The Godfather threw us out already!! I then learned that my 'other' daughter wants to come! That's 11 in our Party now!! With only 2 rooms rented! So mr Sweets and his Bride said we can 'Spoon' with them! Sorry-I didn't ask you Donald!
