Good evening, I have worked on a few things over the winter on my 96', and the next on thing on the list is fixing my speedo's. My left speedo is about 2mph slower than the right. I am assuming debris is in the line or there could be a leak. Do I blow out the pitot tube, replace tubes? I would appreciate any insight on how to resolve this.   Thanks for the help fellas.

The lower knob on the face of the speedo is for fine adjustments. I would get a GPS on the boat and get them both dialed in to read accurately.

As Tim said, no need to replace. Adjust them when you get it back on the water.

I did not realize there was an adjustment for them, thatt is good to know. This may be a dumb question, but is it the knob that moves the orange dial or is there another one that I'm not aware of?

O.K., I think I figured it out, I get the gps out and get to a desired speed (32), I then adjust the the orange dial to match exacty to the 32mph on the speedo. I really didnt know what the funtion of that orange dial was. Feel pretty stupid. Let me know if that is the correct procedure. Thanks

Here is a video of our SNOB running last spring. You'll see one of the spedo's is slow as it was plugged up. There is a dial in the center, which is basically a marker for desired speed, and then there is another dial at the bottom of the gauge. The bottom dial is the one you want to set to your GPS speed. I set mine once I got to 36mph as I wanted to make sure we got a true reading at skiing speed.

Chris,

Thanks for the input and video, thats pretty cool. I can clearly see the bottom knob to adjust the dial. I got it figured out now. You guys going to be heading to Clinton Lake in May?

I'd really like to head to Clinton, marked it down in our calendar as a possibility but didn't realize the Muscatine boat show was that weekend as well. I've been trying to get to that show for 3 years but haven't been able to make it yet. We'll see what boat is ready by that point and make a decision.
