Has anyone seen the flag/link to Global Marine on the left and used it to to obtain a quote? I just did and entered my Atom. It was kicked back as being "special" so they were not able to quote. It did ask for a phone # for a agent to get in touch with me. I'll see what they have you say. I have a feeling it was the 1954 year. It didn't even ask the hull material. I'll try the 64 as well as the 77 and see what happens??

Well, it kicked out my 64 X55 and my 77 Tique as being "special" as well. I'll see if Global gets in touch and see what they say.

Never used them for boat insurance but have used them for older cars and trucks. They also offer club discounts.

It's probably the year Pete, I put in my 81 and got the same message but changed year to 2010 and it let me proceed. Looks like I'll have to buy a new boat.

Dont get discouraged- I have all of my "older" boats insured through Global. Theyre probably just not set up to do it easily via the web. Make the phone call and talk to a live person- they were able to get me agreed-upon replacement value policies with full liability coverage (plus equipment) at very reasonable rates. I started using them several years ago when my '90 became "too old" for an agreed upon value policy through Ski Safe. They were (and I believe still are) endorsed by USA Waterski, so they understand inboard ski boats.

I never got a call back on any of the 3 inquiries I sent so I called them. It's a no go on all 3 of the boats. They do not insure anything older than I think they said 85!!
Jack,
I would NEVER EVER consider that so called insurance company called Hagerty!!! God help you if you do have anything insured with them and you need to make a claim. I can tell you some interesting stories!!!
You might as well have no insurance.

Pete, are you talking about Global? That cant be right. Theyre not even an insurance company as I understand it- theyre just a broker. My policies are actually underwritten by Ace and Progressive... no problems insuring my older stuff through Global! Maybe the agent you dealt with was inept.

Tim,
I used the banner they have here on the site to get the phone number. The agent I spoke with actually asked another person in the agency about the years of the boats! Maybe both were inept???

I solved the problem anyway by going back with my Hartford homeowners and auto policies. They didn't want to renew due to my kids records. They now are on their own - problem solved!

I have been with Boat US for years . All they do is boats, they do stated value and freeze insurance. I haven't found anybody to touch their price or service but no claims so far.

Pete - details please?    I have a 69 datsun roadster "insurered" with them currently.   My hundred bucks a year hasn't let me down yet, but I haven't had a claim either....

Thanks!

This thread being about insurance, I love my insurance with Texas Farmers but some insurance is better than others I think. Since I did heavy inspection on my stringers, rott on the port side thought I would push a claim through. Even with glass and floor as solid as concrete. Insurance agenet was responcive and very professional. Came out and looked at my boat under, around it etc took pics and thought maybe they would help out a little. I was not expecting any help but come to find out because of the age of boat they could not help out in this department. Oh well, it would have been nice to pay my 500.00 deductible and get it done. I am gonna hate the repair bill but she is my 85 and love it dearly.
