A great read for all you political junkies out there!!
I don't know if you guys follow Dr. Charles Krauthammer like I do, but, a friend forwarded me a summary of a speech he gave recently, and he gives his views on Obama and the political landscape. I found it very interesting, and thought I would post it for you to read if interested. This guy is a panelist every evening on Fox News. I can miss the news, but, I HAVE to watch Dr. Krauthammer. He is brilliant! Fast Facts About Dr. Charles Krauthammer , MD Born: March 13, 1950 Birthplace: New York City, New York Raised in Montreal, Canada Attended Mc Gill University and Harvard Medical School 1972 diving accident left him paralyzed from the neck on down. Directed psychiatric research for the Carter administration Began writing career in 1981 with The New Republic Helped develop the "Reagan Doctrine" in the 80's Appointed to Presidential Council on Bioethics in 2002 Dr. Krauthammer is frequently on the Fox News Channel. He is an M.D., a lawyer and is paralyzed from the neck down. A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer . He listened with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here, is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. The ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their children. Last Monday was a profound evening, Dr. Charles Krauthammer spoke to the Center for the American Experiment.. He is a brilliant intellectual, seasoned & articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger nor an extremist in his comments and views . He is a fiscal conservative, and has received a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post. The entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally. Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free.... Summary of his comments: 1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions. It's very hard to know what's behind the mask.The taking down of the Clinton dynasty was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time. 2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton . He has a way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES! 3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather tochange everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can't be straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain orCanada . 4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada . God forbid! 5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he does, not what he says. 6. Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States , but more as a ruler over the world.. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America , as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President ever who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies! 7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego, and Dr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist. 8.. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Republicans are pining for another Reagan , but there will never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future... We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense, and state's rights. 9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don't have..This could lead to hyperinflation, depression or worse. No country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn't work, nor will the stimulus package.These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above. 10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was. 11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance. The work will be hard, but we're right on most issues and can reclaim our country, before it's far too late. |

I watch Fox news with Brett Baer where Mr Krauthammer is a regular panelist. He is extremely knowledgeable about politics in a fact of the matter way. He is definately conservative but his views go beyond partisanship. Jamin....Good Krauthammer articles on snopes. Thanks for passing those along.
Also, I am not surprised Dr. Krauthammer said the summary of his comments was not accurate or authoritative. I am sure he wants to protect his brand, and not have "bootleg" copies of what someone "thought" they heard him say out there. He never publishes his comments made at private meetings according to the disclaimer. So, we will probably never know exactly what he said. Plausible deniablity on his part!! But, in reviewing the content of the summary above that I posted, I find them to be fairly accurate based on how the past several years have unfolded, regardless of Krauthammer putting out his "disclaimer". We could probably have a good debate by going through each point and discussing the merits of each to see if we see the same things. We may have to do this at the "Beer Summit". Speaking of which, I am not sure yet, but, I may be in Madison on Wednesday night with a business colleague. I need to confirm a few meetings tomorrow. If we do make it there, we would be more than happy to buy you a cold one....or two if you are around. Anybody else in Madison Wednesday night?? |

Jamin....Will keep you posted. If we get to Madison, I would stay right downtown at the hotel overlooking the lake, and then walk to the Great Dane.
Lee....I like O'Reilly as well. I just wish he wouldn't interupt his guests so much. Drives me crazy! The one guy on Fox I cannot watch is Glenn Beck. Nice guy, but, just such a dire message all the time. Heck, I am such an open-minded guy, I even watch MSNBC to get a "fair and balanced" view of the news. I have noticed though, they really don't seem to care for conservatives too much

Yea it makes me mad too sometimes. I think he does it to show it does not matter which side is speaking. Bill hates assumption, loves facts. You can be a republican and assume he cut you off, or a demmi and get cut off. Thats why I like him. CNN I cant stand. They said over there on there network that Gadfi is not a terroist and we are just spinning our wheels.. To liberal for me. I would have to agree with you on Beck. Great American knows the history but he can go out there to far 4 me too. I sure have enjoyed talking with you David. Say what you want about Glenn Beck, he does his research and if you actually listen to his radio program or watch him on Fox you will hear him tell you to do your own research and do not take his word for it.
If you think he is being less than truthful, prove it with facts, not dribble from some nose picker on MSNBC. By the way, on Beck....I thought I heard something on the radio today indicating he may be getting ready to leave Fox News. Supposedly he has lost 30% of his audience over the past year. Not sure if its true or not. Wouldn't be surprised though. |

Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson. Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009 as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets. And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: (below) If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th. I saw news clips of Donald Trump on "The View " today. He is calling out Barry and wants to see his birth certficate. He thinks there is something there he doesn't want people to see. Way to go Donald. Hell, he is the only one of the bunch that has the testicular fortitude to be president. I don't think he'll run, but, I like him. He calls it like it is.
Even the women running on the Republican side have more "guts" than the men (other than Trump). Michelle Bachman from Minnesota rocks!! Pertier than a speckled pup too! |

Just read last night on FoxNews.com that the Tea Party is growing impatient on the Republicans in the House inability to cut the national debt. There are calls to get rid of Boehner (Weeper of the House) in the next election cycle and replace him with folks that can and will get it done.
I couldn't agree more! Its back to politics as usual. Don't ruffle any feathers! Can't let the Dems paint us as bad guys! Get along....go along!! Put Michelle Bachman in there. She'll kick some arse!! Boehner seems like a nice enough guy, but, I wasn't sure if he should be the Speaker. He has to stop that crying thing too. |

I don't think Newt can raise the money and support. I do like him though. Give the chance I'd bang an intern! (maybe) My only fear is that the Donald doesn't ride out the entire election and leaves me hangin. Bachman may be tough, but Palin f'd up any womans chances, especially a republican. Donald is smart enough to surround himself with the best people and will truley work for America. I believe he loves this country and would work to bring it back to the superpower it once was. I like Michelle Bachman, she is way to conservative for alot of minnesotans and is portrayed as a fruitcake by the media. She definitly sticks to her convictions, but speaking her mind can sometimes get her in trouble. it is sad that knowing where someone stands can be a detriment but Barrack ran on "hope and change" with no specifics and that was fine with so many. ------------- For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. as predicted, Toyo's will faulter and they will start to jack up the price of their 4 wheel gems....the sadistic side of me when the quake hit was just that thought...i can control what i say but not what i think.
As for Trump, he could be a vote stealer, I just like him because he pulls himself out of Bankrupcy again and again, he doesnt throw in the towel, he is a risk taker and you gotta have alotta balls to take risks, unlike a politician, he knows how to run big business...I dont think he will let the Isrealites push him around, when he sets his mind to something he achieves, Im fckin fed up with politicians, special interest groups, political contributions, 30 family members on the payroll....thats the sht that has to stop. get back to core values and quit saying oh well, fck, Detroits population dropped 25% in the last 10 years, that was the epicenter of industry, just like Cleveland...its ashame. Dave....The media paints anybody they don't like as a fruitcake, or they try to destroy them....ie....Sarah Palin, Donal Trump, and Michelle Bachman. I take it they do this because these people represent a real threat to the liberal media and all they stand for.
However, I have to say, that I have to agree with Eric. Trump could just be that, a vote stealer. Remember Ross Perot from the '93 elections. I voted for him. He had a different message and all the right charts and graphs. In the end, he stole enough votes from George H. Bush to cause him to lose the election to Bill Clinton. We need to be careful of having that happen again. I still like him, and what he says though. Oh well, I am sure the process will sort itself out soon enough. |

dont worry, its a write-off.
bankruptcy is not throwing in the towel, shutting the doors is. its a way to re-organize under current business fluctuations...while things are good you have to reap, its not a sign of being a failure, it is a sign of we have to do something different to be viable in the changing market. simple little things like fuel fluctuations could send a business spiraling, union control all types of factors working against you, you could be feeding off of a large contract and one button pusher can decide he wants his buddy Cheney to get the business??? the odds are against you but if you can survive thru these downfalls and regain control..in my eyes you would be a true surviver, a hunter and gatherer....not a quitter WW, we listen to the bull*************** every 4 years, "only words" politicians words cohearsing the voting public to vote for them, they tell you what you want to hear to gain your confidence and then flip the book on you ------------- "the things you own will start to own you" |

lets turn the clock back, june 2005, tranny's are rolling in, couple hundred a year and im naming my price, been in business since 1999, so im past the do or dye and know better...you build a business around that, more space, more employees, more equipment, more reliance on the banks, your growing....motorhome in the drive, new truck, new car, boat life is good
then all of a sudden the stock market crashes, people are robbed of their wealth, gas shoots to 4.00 a gallon, boats are starting to sit, now you dont see the flow as you use to, some ass in Michigan starts to cut throat and will undercut your prices which starts to de-value the dollar and it forces you to cut your prices which i am a firm believer in not cutting price to get the work.... next thing you know the bank is calling to get their monthly payment, because you built your business upon things when they were good....the overhead is the same but the work coming in is not, so at this point you need to explore other options of income, you scrape by, and get another wrench thrown into the bucket, your on a state contract to repair their fleet of vehicles but because of the states lack of money they pull back and cut the fleet by 75%....I could go on and on and on and on....believe me, im not crying, i will survive, shutting the doors weeds out the weak and some day i will be the only game in town again. but, ive been on the edge of closing doors. I guess my point is, I dont think its throwing in the towel and makes him a weak person....and ive posted this many times....there are three types of people, the ones that say "what just happened", the ones that say "hey man whats happening" and the ones that make things happen, and i think we know which one trump is ------------- "the things you own will start to own you" |

"The prime minister was forced to dash through the kitchens of the UN in New York to secure five minutes of face time with President Obama after five requests for a sit down meeting were rejected by the White House," said London Telegraph columnist David Hughes. Mr. Obama's "churlishness is unforgivable," Mr. Hughes said. The administration went beyond snubs and slights last week when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed the demand of Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, a Hugo Chavez ally, for mediation of Argentina 's specious claim to the Falkland Islands , a British dependency since 1833. The people who live in the Falklands, who speak English, want nothing to do with Argentina . When, in 1982, an earlier Argentine dictatorship tried to seize the Falklands by force, the British -- with strong support from President Ronald Reagan -- expelled them. "It is truly shocking that Barack Obama has decided to disregard our shared history," wrote Telegraph columnist Toby Young. "Does Britain 's friendship really mean so little to him?" One could ask, does the friendship of anyone in the entire world mean anything to him? "I recently asked several senior administration officials, separately, to name a foreign leader with whom Barack Obama has forged a strong personal relationship during his first year in office," wrote Jackson Diehl, deputy editorial page editor of the Washington Post, on Monday. " A lot of hemming and hawing ensued." One official named French President Nicolas Sarkozy, but his contempt for Mr. Obama is an open secret. Another named German Chancellor Angela Merkel. But, said Mr. Diehl, "Merkel too has been conspicuously cool toward Obama." Mr. Obama certainly doesn't care about the Poles and Czechs, whom he has betrayed on missile defense. Honduras and Israel also can attest that he's been an unreliable ally and an unfaithful friend. Ironically, our relations with both Israel and the Palestinian Authority have never been worse. Russia has offered nothing in exchange for Mr. Obama's abandonment of missile defense. Russia and China won't support serious sanctions on Iran . Syria 's support for terrorism has not diminished despite efforts to normalize diplomatic relations. The reclusive military dictatorship that runs Burma has responded to our efforts at "engagement" by deepening its ties to North Korea . And the Chinese make little effort to disguise their contempt for him. For the first time in a long time, the President of the United States is actually distrusted by its allies and not in the least feared by its adversaries. Nor is Mr. Obama now respected by the majority of Americans. Understandably focused on the dismal economy and Mr. Obama's relentless efforts to nationalize and socialize health care, Americans apparently have yet to notice his dismal performance and lack of respect in the world community.
