A few things on the list this year...
Stereo - Add an amp to drive the cabin speakers instead of running them off the head unit. Also add a pre-amp EQ to have more of a "zone control" of tower and cabin speakers.
Tower - Add wakeboard racks.
Interior - Replace a few seat bases whose wood was deteriorating.
Mechanical - Replace steering cable and fix oil drain line.
Electrical - Add the ability for the "house" battery to be charged by the engine.
The stereo is done and some pictures are attached. I just got the steering done this weekend, as well. I bought the entire new uflex helm and cable assembly from DIM. WOW! is all I've got to say about the difference. Wakeboard racks are mounted and good to go. Got the rear ski locker lid and driver seat bases replaced. All new wood (slathered in CPES) and foam. The foam had gotten some mildew growth in it. The upholstery shop the PO used probably re-used the wood bases AND the foam from what I can tell. I emailed him to see if he knew and he wasn't sure, but figured they probably did based on the low cost. Still working on the oil line and the best solution for the "house" battery. After that it's time for final clean, polish and wax. I'm also trying to see about getting the trailer wheels looking better.

So I went with just an oil pan plug and I'm going to pump the oil out for oil changes. I got oil in and fired her up for her first engine operation since winterizing. She fired right up with only 4-5 cranks and purred like a kitten.
I'm pretty sure I'm going ahead with the Sure Power 1314 for charging the house battery. I'll make my final decision next week.
I got a new box for the sub that is cramping leg room so I messed with a few ideas last night and it looks like I can rotate it 90 degrees from what you see in the picture and set it up on blocks up off the floor. This allows the cabling to go under it and I can slide it all the way back to the back of the bow seating. It seems to resonate a little more like that, so that's good.
I'm working on final cleaning and waxing tonight and tomorrow morning. We're planning to get out on the water and make sure things are running right tomorrow afternoon. That will also allow me to check the packing gland, fine tune the sound system and see how she is operating overall.

Hi Andy
can you tell me more about your stereo I want to redo my set up I picked up a Orion sub and a Majestic amp. I'm not sure how to set mine up so things don't get wet?

Maiden voyage went well with no problems to report. I'm still trying to dial in and tune the sound system. I'm trying to find a happy medium between the cabin speakers sounding real tinny or getting too much low end that they struggle.

Kirk,
What are you worried about getting wet, the amp or the sub box? I replaced my box this year because it did end up absorbing water in the last couple years just sitting on the floor. I'm setting it up on blocks this year so it doesn't sit on the floor and it has airflow under it.
What are your options on places you can mount either?

Can you run through your whole set up? you have two batteries? I have plenty of room up and under the front, I can make a sub box to be water proof but the speaker it self is not marine do I have to worry about this? Also i would like to add another battery.

I have two batteries. One battery has the audio system connected to it and the other is strictly for the engine. I have three amps all together, as you can see in the pics. That Alpine amp you can see in the pictures is powering the sub.
If you can waterproof the box, I'd recommend it. As far as the sub itself, it should be OK. I'd find a spot you can put the sub that keeps it as far away from water as possible so it isn't getting splashed all the time.
I'd definitely recommend another battery and think about power draw and charging. I'm going to add a Sure Power battery seperator in a week or two so the house battery can get charged. With the addition of the third amp I'm now running around 800 watts (rms) of power so it drains my battery down pretty quick. I've gone a couple years with the battery completely isolated from the boat and just charging at home. As much as the boat runs during the day, we could easily be keeping it charged with the right set up and I decided it was time to do it.
Find a spot for all the pieces you want to ad and wire them all up. What are you doing as far as cabin speakers? Do you have a tower with speakers?

My current set up is Just a Cd player with 4 speakers two under my back seat and the other two up front in the sides, just some cheap marine ones.
no tower .
On my pontoon I have a solar panel that trickle charges my second battery that runs the stereo.

You should be fine with just the stereo and a sub putting a load on a second battery. You can probably run it for a couple days before it needs recharging. The solar panel idea might work well since your current draw would be fairly low.

Did a little more tuning of the system and I think I've got it dialed in. I'm still working on a few detail items to be totally done. I definitely realized I need some way for the house battery to charge so I went ahead and bought the Sure Power 1314. I also decided to add a main fuse for the system in case there is a major short. I built a cover that will go over the distribution blocks and allow me to mount the two items. Here's a picture of the progress so far on that.
I also noticed a little oil leaking in the bilge. I checked the oil drain plug I put in and it needed to be snugged up. Do I need to have any thread sealant on that plug? It has a plastic washer that came with it, which I installed, but I didn't do anything else.
