i have a 85 ski nautique 2001 and i am wondering what this is and what does it do, i know it has the line from the gas tank run to it and it has a line coming out of it going to the fuel pump it also has what looks like two bleed vaules on top and one on bottom is it some type of fuel filter ? and can it get clogged? i am having some type of fuel problem but dont know if its in the carb are what. thanks for any

Water seperating fuel filter and an older style at that. I have a newer Racor on my boat.

From the looks of that filter it has not been changed in a while.I would upgrade to a newer style head with a more common filter. They seem to be smaller these days.

Yep, that's a fuel /water separator. I would at least get a new filter for it as that one looks to have been on there quite a while. It seems CC vacillated in the 80's on what style to use.
My older 78 has a large commonly available spin on filter and it works well.

thats just the housing for the filter.the filter is inside,you don't change the housing.

Correct, that is the smaller and not as desirable type.

hey thanks for the help guys i brought a newer style of this today and installed it went to the lake to try it out and it worked great looks like it fixed my problem so thanks for the help, now we are ready for white lake
