What type of grease is used in the rudder zerk? I do not want to mix an uncompatible type with what the factory used. Thanks.

Not given,
The real incompatible issue is the old story about you can't mix oil with water!! Greases really don't care as they all mix together. Any grease that has some statement stating it's resistant to water is great. "Marine" greases all have additives that ether resist or absorb unwanted water. BTW, it was only several years CC used the rudder ports with the zurks until they found out greasing really wasn't the answer so if you have anything in the grease gun, just shoot it in. Don't go buying something special!! If you do want to and still use it elsewhere, I'd just get some white lithium.

BTW, add your first name to your profile and then I won't have to call you "not given". I feel if you spend enough time on CCfan, you'll find it's really not like other sites and we do use first name rather than screen names.

Also, you may want to add your location. You may have a CCfan member in your back yard!! You'd be amazed on how helpful some have been - and have run over on a moments notice to another member with problems!

Green Grease,

You can get it from any good auto supply. Developed for the off road market and will not wash out, very tacky.

I just took a look at your posts! Sorry but they don't look very informative and always very vague. For the sake of keeping CCfan a high end site where members can go for qualified information, please fill in the blanks in your profile, back it up, tell us your tech background or stop posting.

Your profile is so incomplete, that I can't even send you a PM!!!!! Who the H are you??????

Settle down Pete, It's a public venue.

Maybe Keith could limit how many posts an anonymous person can do & then people would be motivated to announce themselves.

Ok Chris, I've settled down!

I did a search and found out there is actually a product out there called http://www.greengrease.net/ - Green Grease !!!
Considering it's sold in infomercials, I sure hope it's better than products like PB Blaster.

My intention was certainly not to offend anybody on this site. I have been reading informative info on CCF for many, many years. Usually my simple questions have already been covered. I do not know why PMs do not work. Thanks.

Pete,
I was trying to give H2O info on grease that works very well in this type of application. He can do his own homework to decide if this is what he wants to use.
Maybe you should do your own homework before you shoot your mouth off.

Yes, the info is great on the green grease. However, a link to what you are talking about certainly would have helped all including myself and avoiding the misunderstanding. Do you know how to post a link on CCfan? It is different than some other sites. Thanks again for the tip on the green grease and, it wouldn't have been necessary for me to get wound up and "shoot my mouth off" if, you had provided a link!!!    Information is great but, back it up. looking through your previous posts, you seem to need some work in that area.

With two jobs and 5 kids playing soccer I don't have time to post links, If I can through some info out to help a fellow CC owner great. The least they can do is Google the info.

Enough Said.

Keep the kids in line but, if possible, provide the links to your ideas. Then, it makes it easier for our members. It only take a couple minutes max!!!
